That 1st issue looks great, makes me wanna find my comics right now, they're stashed somewhere in my house. Also, I didn't know comics were graded like that now, I thought it was just trading cards.

I don't know the actual book value, but you can see that only 8 copies have made that grade by CGC.

It's not X-Men #1, it's Giant Size X-Men #1. Subtle difference. This is the book that launched the new X-Men (Wolverine, Storm, and the rest on the cover).

that is crazy. I could never give that much for a comic.

Don't you just wish your parents/grandparents had bought a few hundred of these when they were cheap?

Is it rare? I think I saw one at my local Gooswill the other day. I left it there because I didn't want to break a dollar and be stuck carrying around a bunch of change for the rest of the day. If I get a chance, I'll go back sometime next week and see if it is still there.
J/K, of course.

#1, my ass. It's a #1 but not THE #1.
These kids with their fancy Wolverwhatzits and all. In my day Xmen #1 was Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Best, and Iceman against Magneto with wayyyy too yellow everywhere. And we liked it!

The first ever Xmen book was Uncanny Xmen #1.
Giant Size #1 introduced the new Xmen team.
Xmen #1 had so many copies printed of each of it's variant covers that it's basically worthless.

I couldn't see myself dropping that much on a comic either, would be perfectly happy getting a reprint.

My dad has most of the old Spidermans, they're worth quite a bit. But he doesn't have his first appearance in Strange Tales or Amazing Spiderman #1 or 2. But he has the rest after that. Crazy how a comic book can be worth so much money, huh?
