I noticed an Ebay seller with over 100 copies of Region 2 Breath of Fire III for $15. In the past month, nearly 10 Ebay'ers have picked up copies. The earlier purchasers have already left feedback, making the deal seem legit. I'll post pictures and more information as soon as I receive my copy. Check out the auction here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260062325940&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=016

ahhh...
Is the seller stupid or did I missed something?
PSP games are suppose to be region free.
Why does the seller explicitly states that "THIS WILL NOT WORK ON USA PSP".
Ahhh, does this seller expect that many European PSPs in the US? (he is trying to sell over 130 copies of this game in the US).

**THIS WILL NOT WORK ON USA PSP**
**CHECK FOR COMPATIBILITY BEFORE BUYING**
FOR REGION 2 ONLY

Ummm... what? That's not possible.

KingofGames

I believe the seller previously sold region 2 UMD's, which will not work on a PSP. However, as stated, PSP games are not region protected.

Yea soo, damn, im hoping that guy is only saying that cuz he was thinking these work like movies, but we can all confirm that GAMES are region free right? and damn shipping it $9.22 to nyc.

KingofGames

PSP games are definitely region-free (Or not region-protected, at least). You'll be hard pressed to find a Region 2 sealed copy for under $30 before shipping. I'll be sure to post as soon as I receive my copy.

Makes sense to me. Their store says they only sell freight recoveries which are shipments that never make it to distributors or are refused or repossessed. This could have easily got misrouted en route to a Fry's or something and they're clearing them out of their warehouse. They did a half assed search seeing that the average price for "Breath of Fire III" on eBay is around $15 and there ya go.

I bit. I'm a little concerned as they say many items have come from crushed lots so I'm hoping this isn't one of them.

Ha, I didn't figure my topic would make this big of an impact. Today's purchases nearly match the sales over the previous month. Most feedback was posted four to five days after the item was purchased, so I'd expect a quick turnaround.

As for the game, it's a well-made traditional RPG. While no particular aspect of the game stands out, there aren't any glaring issues. The main adventure is interesting enough (featuring some of my all-time favorite characters), and there are plenty of side-quests and mini-games that add to the game. The two that come to my mind are fishing and maintaining a fairy village. I also seem to remember a pretty neat "master" system, where you'd meet expert fighters that you could pay to train your character. Every level up, you'd earn bonus stats or moves that you couldn't get on your own. Overall, one of the better traditional RPG's on the PS1.

I thought the game was pretty mediocre, personally, but for $15, I suppose it couldn't hurt to try it. Tales of Eternia is an infinitely better choice if you haven't imported that though.

I don't have a PSP, but I can tell ya'll this Breath of Fire is one of the greatest and most underrated RPG series' of all time. Even through every installment has been stellar, BoF III is a great traditional RPG to give any gamer that old school feeling while keeping them interested in a damn fine story.

I would recommend this game to anyone who likes RPGs, this is a solid pick up, especially for that price. I mean, I know the PSX version was awesome, I can't really vouch for the way the PSP version plays. I just wanted to let everyone know that this outstanding game, along with all of its brothers and sisters, and a great one to have in the library.

As far as I know, there is nothing new with this version of BoFIII. It's pretty much a direct port of the PS1 version.

With shipping it was a little less than $24 for me, which is perfectly acceptable when that's about what a $20 game would cost after tax.

You're not missing anything if you've played...virtually any good RPG in the last 15 years before. Nothing special about the gameplay or story. The graphics were dated, but mildly appealing kind of blocky 3D 10 years ago.

And there was load time in the original. I doubt the PSP's pretend load time could be much worse.

It was decent, but nothing special a decade ago. Yeah, I'd rather have a portable version of a game all things being equal, but still, I'd rather play something new. I don't want people to risk this thinking they're getting some kind of magical lost gem.

I just checked the auction, NPS is a local store here in SLC as well as an ebay seller. Yes they do basically get what other stores don't sell, they aren't any kind of shady company, just a place that sells things for a great discount. They're usually a really good place to get cheap DVD's. I don't think any of you should feel scared about this being a legimate deal.

What day did you guys buy the game? I paid on the 9th, and they shipped it the next day, but UPS tracking says it won't get here 'til Monday the 15th (MLK day, will they even be delivering in this day?). I can't stand UPS, it costs more than Priority USPS and is slower.

What really pisses me off is that my package got to Jacksonville (about 110 miles away from me) at 4pm on friday, and I was hoping that they'd put it on a truck and maybe get it to Orlando during the night so it'd be out for delivery today. NO, it's still sitting in Jacksonville almost 24 hours later and I doubt I'll get it monday.
