Just wanted to get some opinions on this before I call Nintendo. I have a feeling they'll do something (they fix that cosmetic problem with the hinge, after all), but I'm not so anxious to part with my DS yet.

My problem is that my touch screen calibration no longer works correctly. I first noticed when playing trauma center that I didn't get the syringe tool until I clicked just to the left of it. I went into the OS to recalibrate, but no matter how many times I do it, there's one corner that's always off. I did as the Nintendo online FAQ says and checked all around for obstructions or what-have-you. Nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? To anyone who's had to get their DS repaired, how long does it usually take? Is the shipping cost left for you to pay? Thanks to anyone who can answer some of my questions.

Double post 'cause you tried posting during that horrible outage last night, right? I think I sextuple posted last night :D

Anyway I've never had to calibrate my DS (I do use a screen protector though).

I'm surprised we don't hear of more issues like this. Hopefully we won't all start having problems at some point. I guess Nintendo uses a really good touch screen or something.

Glad to hear it wasn't just me having problems posting. :-)

I have used a hori screen protector in the past, but there's not one on my DS at the moment. The thing is that I'm in the middle of FF3 and Castlevania at the moment and the touch screen isn't critical, so I'm really not ready to part with my DS to fix it!

If you live in North America, you can ask NOA or NOC to send you a free shipping label. You just need to fill out a very brief form explaining what problems you have with your system aswell as providing your address. You should get the label within or less than 5 days. I live not too far from New York so it only took three days for them to recieve my DS. It would also take the same amount of time to get my system back.

EDIT:
You can do that here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/repair_charts_dslite.jsp
I forgot to mention that you will have your warranty extended to another one full year when you get your DS back.
