I just ordered it, I bought each dvd as it came out for 14-20 bucks (later sold them as a set on ebay, only went for 60 bucks), and if this is the actual box with all of them I'm going to cry

The thing is that the volume 1 with artbox was...well....kinda rare. Prices for it shot up to over $100 on Ebay. I wouldn't be surprised if a distributor found a stock pile in a back room and unloaded it to walmart, but there's likely a lot more Complete sets out there since its still in production.

I've never seen Walmart carry a volume of an anime series that included an empty box to house the other volumes; it's always just been that volume by itself. I assume because the box would take up a lot of shelf space. I could be wrong though, as that's in store and this is online.

actually, they dont backup what the website says as far as description. I ordered "Ren And Stimpy Complete Seasons 1 & 2" on UMD and it turned out to only be the first 10 "episodes". They basically said i was SOL

Now you may have better chances since the items we/you're ordering actually exist. I guess with the Star Trek ones, it'd just be a matter of whether they can get their hands on them or not. I still kinda doubt that even if they had the items, they'd go out of their way to get them to you.

It's already on ebay. I wasn't going to list it, i really wasn't but I already have a Canadian version of Season 1-2 and a PAL version of Season 3-4. I was expecting the ebay prices to be alot less then what they really were. If it doesn't sell at the price i listed i'll keep it. If it does sell i'll use the money and get a 360 next month.

Samurai Champloo i'm keeping at least until i've had a chance to watch it and see what i think about it.

I just tried to price match at local BB...their price was like 169 something. First, the guy at the register was like "WHAT THE fuck!?", so he called for confirmation before he could price match. The other guy came and took a look, then did a double take to look at it again. He had to get the "big cheese" to take a look. When she came over, she seemed PISSED that I wanted a $125 dollar reduction... and denyed it saying she could not honor such a ridiculous price match.
Yes, I know that this went against BB policy, but with 4-5 people (assistant-manager included) standing around in their "WTF!?" mood, it was a little intimidating and I just said to forget about it.

That sucks dude...you know what they are (probably) doing, right? By "backordering" the item, they are NOT obligated to give you the item nor charge you for it. Good catch. From what you quoted it doesn't exactly state what they expect you to say when they hear from you (other than the obvious they want you to cancel the order :) ).

I would definately send an e-mail back or something stating that you are still interested in getting the shipment as soon as possible.

I wouldn't bring up price either, just tell them that you are still looking forward to getting the shipment.

Check it- mine isn't found, assuming they slapped a tracking label on it, scanned it in the warehouse, and never gave it to UPS. So we have a tracking number for an item that was never shipped- they want to cancel these.

I called their CS today because I too got the "shipped" and "backordered" email as well. They told me that since I was charged for the item, it is "safe" to assume the item has already been shipped.

I also asked about the tracking number not being showed up. They said to give it a couple of days for UPS to update. I knew I had to wait already since I just got the email yesterday. They also told me to expect my shipment on the 16th.

I'll wait until then. If I dont get it by that date then I'll give them a call back. The shipping was the $.97 for fyi.

Honestly, that email sounds to me like they are waiting right now for those people who want to keep the set (and read the fine print) to send them the, "I don't want to cancel and I don't want you to cancel my order in 10 days," email.

My guess is that they are going to wait the, "10 days until we cancel your order for you, unless we hear from you," and cancel as many of the orders as they can. After that they're going to see where they're at as far as having to fulfill orders and such and decide what to do then. Whether to fulfill the mistake on the few that actually emailed them back or to try and find another way to get out of it.


Everybody who received a backordered email: Take NeoFrank1's lead and write them a confirmation that you want to keep the order and do not want it canceled after 10 days! And for those of you who did not read the fine print until djkunai pointed it out to you, if you actually receive this order after emailing them and after the 10-day mark, you better be thanking him profusely as well.
