I admit this is probably a strange question, but I was curious as to if anyone's seen any discussion on the possibility of changing out GBA SP screens.
I have a few GBA SPs that I've adopted and rescued from friends and co-workers who didn't appreciate them. Some have pristine bottom halves and destroyed screens and some have nice screens and busted up cases.
What I'd like to do is pick up a tri-wing screwdriver and somehow put the top half of one onto the bottom half of another. Sound possible?
EDIT: Dug a little deeper and found some kits on Golden Shop's site. Now to pull the trigger...

Personally, I've always wanted to take my Classic NES GBASP and put one of those newer-brighter screens inside of it. ;)

I think I remember seeing pics of GBA SPs where people have done this exact thing. But not 100% certain of it. Throw up some pics if you do cobble a few together.

That would be the best GBA SP ever! :D

Is it possible to buy a tri-wing driver outside of buying online? Like a hardware or electronics store?

Same here, once the GBA SP prices really drop and you can get one of the newer version screens for about $30 I'm gonna see if I can do it.

A guy at work sold me his four broken SPs for $10. I don't know why he had four and he quit before I asked but now I have a red, black, blue, and yellow that don't power on. I also have a silver that's beat to hell, pearl white that's perfect, and second yellow one is new in the box.
I'm ordering a tri-wing today I guess.

Is there a particular Tri-wing driver size that Nintendo uses? What size driver did you end up picking up?

I don't have the exact link but it's the one off of NCSX.com.

Did he have kids? If so I'd guess they have self control issues.

He actually picked them up in Mexico at a flea market thinking they were functional. When you flip the switch on all of them, the light turns red but you get nothing so he probably thought they just needed charging.
