Now that Gears of War is done, release teh demo!!!
Epic hasn't said a damn word about the Tournament. I've been itching for this game forever. I got tired of 2004 and want to play it on the PC.
Too bad Xbox360 is closed off, it would have been kinda neat to play PC vs Xbox360 vs. PS3. Oh well, 2 out of the 3 ain't bad.

I knew Hotel Dusk would be great, I'm glad I preordered it long ago.. for those of you that shop at GameCrazy, you better preorder it now, according to the master release list, the only way a store will get it is if there were pre-orders for it.. so it sounds like it may get hard to find really quickly.

Man, I'm buying Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Wii Play, and probably Wario Ware in January. That's a lot for me.

Awesome, awesome scores for Hotel Dusk. It was my most anticipated holiday game of 06 before it got bumped. Good time to be an adventure game fan.

While I'm glad to see good scores for Hotel Dusk, it's amusing (to me) that Metal Gear has a higher average score, yet is overlooked.
Just sayin'. Of course, since the PSP's "success" has to be written tongue-in-cheek in quotes, it's no small surprise (unless, of course, it was EGM who decided to take a dig at the PSP this way in the rumor column, in which case, my apologies).
I wonder what they have to say about Pheonix Wright 2 that gave it such average scores. If it's more of the same, I'll be quite happy, but that isn't the kind of stuff that pleases reviewers all the time.

MGS:PO is the game of the month by those scores so I doubt that EGM ribs it. The reason why people are buzzing about Hotel Dusk at the moment is two fold in that people don't know about Hotel Dusk and MGS has been out for a month. I don't find either of these scenarios surprising.
PW 2 from what I've heard is much more of the same. The big problem though is that there's no new case and the DS features are minimal. It's essentially a straight port of the GBA game which may account for the low score.

I guess I'll have to pay closer attention to what other folks say about this game. WarioWare and Phoenix Wright 2 got about what I'd expect them to get, and hearing everyone's raves about Portable Ops, that's not really a surprise either. I know Wii Play is pretty superficial, but wasn't expecting that low (but who knows, after seeing their Elebits review).

It's essentially a straight port of the GBA game which may account for the low score.I remember the first one getting non-spectacular reviews, so the second one (which has less features than the first one... assuming it's identical to the Japanese version) getting mediocre reviews should be somewhat expected.

I was getting PW2 regardless of reviews. Hotel Dusk I will get much sooner than expected due to the 10.

Well beyond the story and the characters, it's a relatively unimpressive game. The music despite being catchy isn't that complex, graphics are mediocre, and the game is pretty easy. For what it's worth though, I gave the original a pretty high score for the indy site I write for well before the game became super hard to find.

Because Harmonix was bought out by MTV. My guess is they want to release guitar based game but didn't want to share the profit with Activision/Red Octane

Phoenix Wright 2 is better than the first. It does lack a DS enhanced case, but I think the cases are a bit stronger and more complex than the first one. Plus the added complexity of the psyche-locks and being able to present people for objections makes the game a bit tougher.
No Phoenix Wright 1 fan will be dissapointed with the second. I've been playing the japanese(with english) release for a few months now.
Cannot wait for hotel dusk. Will be waiting on Lost Planet.
EGM really doesn't like Wii games, do they? MGS:PO with it's horrible camera gets a pass and a 9.0, but Wii play and Elebits get trashed. Right. Maybe there's a reason they're up for sale.

Yeah, and they also gave Twilight Princess a Platinum Award. (And Smooth Moves a Silver.) Maybe people can't adjust to their rejection of the '7-9' scale and can't admit that most 'launch window' Wii games aren't all that great? Why encourage developers to just keep repackaging minigames 'til the end of time?
Incidentally, has it ever been confirmed that "Quarterman" is and for the last few years has been the one and only Shane Bettenhausen? He seems to be, hands-down, the most likely candidate, or at least the primary person behind the persona.

From EGM directly. I don't much enjoy the PSP, but those are their words, not mine. Plus, I've been excited for Hotel Dusk for a long while so I drew particular attention to it (especially since it's considered to be relatively "no-name").

Fair enough, then. Glad I didn't immediately attribute it to you, and I hope it didn't come across that way.

I'm really looking forward to Phoenix Wright 2, Hotel Dusk, and Warioware. Those scores for Wii Play aren't bad for a $10 games, and it will give me something else to play with non-gamers.
Wii Play is an easy buy for me, since it has a Wiimote.
I got Super Swing Golf at a pawn shop for $15 the other day. (Yeah, only $15! I was psyched too!)
Wario Ware is a given for me, and I really didn't know much about Hotel Dusk. Might have to end up getting that one now too.
My wallet is gonna be hurting.

I wonder if they mention the length of Wario? I seen on the 1up show a while back that it looked as good or better than the ones before it so I cant wait. Wish it was here for the three day weekend.

I can't wait for Hotel Dusk. I'm really disappointed in the Lost Planet scores (not just from EGM) but I'll be buying it anyway. Maybe everyone had unreachable expectation because of the awesome demo?

If you aren't wanting the Wiimote, and don't want to sell/trade it away, I'd just wait until EB/GS gets a used copy. Though, I really don't know if they are planning on offering the game without the Wii remote.

I subscribe and I dont mine early...
Hotel Dusk's art reminds me of Trace Memory, an underappreciated, underrated gem of an adventure game... perhaps the same team that brought us that gave us Hotel Dusk too. If so I'll pick Hotel Dusk up whenever a decent price comes (read: $20 or less).
