kohl's got a bogo on videogames

however some prices are just insane. ex: gran turismo 4 is 78.99 :bomb:

best bets some older gamecube and gameboy advance games.

from another site:

Choose from Nintendo DS, GameBoy Advance, GameCube, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PSP games. Plus, take 10% off via coupon code "NEW2254". Most titles are marked up considerably over list price, although there are a few price lows mixed in. Shipping is $8.45. Sales tax is added where applicable. Deal ends January 9. To find these games:

Click "Homestore" at the top of the home page; and
Click "Game Room" on the left side of the next page.

Thank God, I've been waiting for that GT4 to drop from 79.99.

Kohl's can eat my ass - I can't believe how much they charge for their games. Even b1g1 isn't worth it.

PlayStation® 2 Ultimate Spider-Man™

So any Kohl's still carry games in-store? They quit around here probably over a decade ago. Their prices typically were a bit higher at the time, though it was because they didn't have the same kind of purchasing power as other retailers. (Although it seems like they're a bigger chain now maybe?)

Anyway there are some good and some solid deals in there. Yoshi: Topsy Turvey is $20...meaning it's $10 if you can find something else that price.

HAHAHA I never knew Kohl's sold games.......these prices are ridiculous. I can't imagine them ever selling a single videogame lol.

yea... some of their prices are just beyond incredible, but wolfpup's right as there's some decent stuff. one just have to sort through it.

some of the kohl's around me carries games, but near the checkouts as i found out while christmas shopping. they're mostly old games or budget titles.

Either would have been appropriate in this case.

I've never seen a game above $24.99 at Kohl's. They'd have something like Simpsons Hit N Run for $24.99, then "3 day sale! All $24.99 games only $19.99!" so it'd end up being retail.

..now Sound Shop, there's a place to say fuck off to. They still have Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and LoZ: Wind Waker for $49.99.

Are their prices always like that or just when they go into BOGO mode?

The brick and mortar store has the same deal. The games are not as marked up in the actual store. I picked up Mario golf and pinball for 9.99 each after B1G1F.

Was thinking about getting Yoshi Topsy-Turvy and Namco 50th Collection, but shipping+tax nuked the deal. Too bad.

What the? Geist is on their site for $78.99??? No wonder no one buys games from Kohls.

^ To Nohbdy: I thought companies can charge whatever they want and the only reason they would go lower was to compete with someone else who is offering less.

Does anyone know any games that aren't shown on the website, but can found in-store?

I work at a Kohl's, and whenever they do a BOGO, or something similar, they set everything back to their "original" price. On that note, I remember seeing somewhere their "original" prices are set to what other department stores have charged for items, not taking account of any immediate discounts, sales, or whatever. Still a bunch of BS if you ask me, especially them saying a Guitar Hero bundle is "originally" $99.99.

I swear...somebody ought to report kohl's to the BBB.....

I noticed their pricing practices over the holidays...."40% off" on some electronic games, which meant that they still ended up being about $5 more than what Target, Walmart, etc had them for everyday.

I think they do this to fool old cogers and others who have no idea how much games actually should cost...Grandma is shopping for little Jimmy and she see's bogo and thinks she is getting a killer deal

and what would the better buisness burough do? inform anyone that kohl's prices are high. a store can charge what ever they want. it is not bad buisness, just a rip off.

most of the in-store stock varies, i saw mario golf gba as well as charlie and the chocolate factory for xbox during the christmas rush. i never saw 360 game at the kohls near me and that game is found online.

In store in Green Bay I was able to buy Mario Tennis for the GBA for $15. I didn't know they had games online, but I've never seen a game for more than $20 at the Kohl's in town.

I thought it was "caveat emptor," but that's just me.Caveat emptor refers to warning the buyer. Caveat lector warns the reader.

With these prices, I have to say the OP is right. Seeing those prices nearly made me choke.

Edit: As I see this has already been addressed, I throw in a third to make my post count for something. Caveat Venditor. Seller beware.

Kohls and other department stores do the same thing with clothes. Jack the "original prices" the fuck up when they go on "sale".

Funny to see that tactic applied to videogames.

Okay, you guys are making me feel stupid. Did you all take Latin? I'm officially impressed. The forum should switch over. I'd have no idea what was being said, but it would LOOK cool :)

I was going through it, because although it's a rip off, B1G1 will save you a bit of money if you get the right games.

However, it would appear that this is actually buy one-get one half-off. That's just turd-tastic.
