Most targets are currently holding their shipments of wiis for the sale on the 21st. It should be a substancial amount depending on where you live. If you live in a busy area then it is most likely that the target will have a lot.

What's so amazing to me about the Wii sales stats is that even though Nintendo is getting more units to retail than 360 or PS3 did during their inital launch window, the Wii demand is still greater than supply. The home market hasn't even been adequately satiated, so there's so much more room to print money sell systems. It's going to be interesting to see exactly when supply catches up with demand, and if enough quality software gets released this year to keep sales of the system strong through the rest of 07 into 08...

Should be noted that just because they appear in the ads, doesn't mean you're guaranteed to find a Wii in stores. Nintendo's still having a hard enough time keeping the Wii and DS in stores right now. :P Same goes for the PS3 in some locations.

If you really want one, you're going to camp, simple as that. These ads are getting hit on every deal site in a major way and there WILL be people who want them bad enough who WILL camp for it.

If I still didn't have mine, you better believe I'd camp for it a few hours before the store opens to get one. If you go right at opening you're going to be behind the 30 + people waiting to get one.

Roufuss, it is one of my most heartfelt wishes to someday meet you in person. You are definitely (along with Trakan, Shrike4242, 6669, Demolition Man, Cochese UGA and others) one of the nicest, most knowledgeable people that I have come across here at CAG and across the Internet.

From my perspective, You and the others I've mentioned above always try to add something useful and informative to the conversation as well as trying to help less knowledgeable folks (like myself.... especially in regards to gaming) gain experience / insight into maximizing their $ (getting more bang for their buck).

Really 6-8 hours? Do you think there is still that much demand left? Even the EB games and gamestops have gotten in two shipments this week for wii, I was thinking the demand was waning just a bit with xmas out of the way for most peoples drive.

I was planing on heading out 2-3 hours before my best buy or circuit city opens. Anyone else think its going to be insane this sunday?

Every store here sells out within an hour of getting them in.Ive talked to employees at target,walmart,meijer,best buy and they all tell me they've sold out within an hour of putting the units out.So 6-8 might not be needed but i work third shift and im usally up in the middle of the night anyway on the weekends so i might as well head over there early so i can gaurentee myself a wii.

Also the Min of 20 for best buy isnt a whole lot either.So its worth it to me to have to camp out for a few hours to make sure i get one.

I would say that it never hurts to ask them the day before they go on advertised sale. Would they know how many units that they are going to carry? You betcha they'll know.

Someone on this forum stated that if you go to Target and type this item # into one of the many scanners that line the store you can find out how many Wii's a Target has. The item# 207250001. I tried it at my local Target and it works. Too bad they had none in stock. So check it, see if it's in stock go ask an employee and if they say they don't have them, show them the scanner and see what reaction they have if you tell them that they just lied to you.

Thanks. My concern is if I waste time in one line, I miss out on making it in time to the other store. As I said, Best Buy and Circuit City are about 60 seconds apart from where I live (FL), but I want to try to snag the Wii at CC so I can use the $40 coupon. I guess the best thing to do is call for a confirmation of units shipped, as well as if they're going to do the voucher thing exactly one hour before the store opens.

I really hope this doesn't get around too much, I'd prefer as few campers as possible.

wow...nothing good at all this week IMO other than the fact that places have the Wii in stock. oh and i can tell you that TRU wont have them in. we should have had them in a shipment today, but between 12-2 today, i know they didn't make it there. check with them for the next few days... i checked the computer at work and there was no ROTO hold for the Wii if the stores do get them, but not many were heading our way either. i think we had 3-6 units coming in and that is it.

I asked a guy stocking video games in Best Buy about their Sunday Wii shipments, but he told me that he hadn't heard anything about receiving any Wiis, and he doubts they would get any on Sunday. I'm chalking it up to him being misinformed, but I'm still a bit concerned.

I then stopped at Circuit City, and asked someone the same question. He also didn't hear about any Sunday shipments, but he said it's pretty likely since he had seen a stack of Wii remotes in the back, with instructions to "Do not sell until Sunday." Looks like it's a given with them.

I'm curious about this also. There's a BB and a Target within1/2 mile of each other where I'm planning to go. I'd prefer to have a voucher in hand so I don't have to participate in a stampede when the doors open. :) If one store is offering vouchers while the other isn't, I'll opt for the vouchers.

I've used the $40 off $199 CC coupon to get $40 off the premium x-box 360 deal at best buy, followed up with $10 off Dead Rising and Gears of War each. Ended up walking away with the X-box, madden (bundled), GoW and DR for around 470-480. :D (BB in Norman, OK)

So yeah, if you can't use it at CC, try BB.

Just got back from Circuit City here in Huntsville, AL with a voucher in hand! I can return in an hour and 45 minutes and claim my Wii. There were 9 buyers in line when they gave out the tickets at 7:45, for 11 Wiis available.

Plus, the manager brought us breakfast! A giant bag of Sausage McMuffins.

Got my Wii from Meijers this morning. TIP: A lot of department stores like Meijers (a chain in the midwest;I live in Ohio) will try to trick you. I got there at 3am, they said they would be selling them at 6am (beats staying out in the cold). So I browsed until about 5:45, then I saw a line start to form at the video games register, which was in the toy section. About 6:02, they announced that they were selling the Wiis at the freakin' customer service desk! Of course, there was a race. They put carts in ALL the cash lanes, so I had to go all the way around. They had 6, I was the 6th man. Barely got it, but mission accomplished. People, be prepared. Dept. stores that don't like lines may use trickery. Meijers was nice to go to though because no one would think to try it. Also, for those who still are looking, a lot of area Walmarts were telling me (I called around a lot) that they should have in the neighborhood of 15-25 Wiis for the 28th. Good luck!
