So check this out.

You guys posted the first list of games, yesterday, and I freaked.
I printed it, and rushed out the door, without stopping for anything. It's at least an hour's drive to my CC.

Well, what was posted, was just what the first guy scored. So, I was only looking for those titles. Of which I scored about 11.

As I checked out, the cashier asked me about how I got the list. I told him my cousin worked for CC. He asked if he could throw the list away for me. I was like, dude, why don't you look at it, at pick some of these up.

He said no, but he'd give it to his friend who's all about games.

So, I get home, and see the other 300 pages of games.

I practically shit my pants.

Today, I headed back out there. Another hour, and $10 in gas. I walk in, and there's the guy I gave the list to. He turns the other way. I was like, WTF.

I get over to the games, and I see they're all gone. I smiled, and thought, wow. Only because no one comes to this store. Then, the first salesman approaches me.

"Hey, you're the guy with the list, from yesterday right"? I said yeah. He tells me that after I left, the cashier took my list to the manager, and complained.

He then went on, to tell me how they prceeded to pull all of the $5 games off the shelves, until next week. When it will be advertised.
I said "no shit".

Next, comes the second salesman. He starts b/s-ing, and asks if he can make a copy of the list, for himself. I say, sure no problem. He comes back, and shakes my hand. he told me anything I still find, can still be purchased for $5.

Now, I did find 2 more games that were hidden, so I was content.

I get to the register, and what happens????

The cashier spins around and waves the manager over. He asks if he can sell the games, because the sale isn't until next week. The manager tells him, that they were on the shelf, and he has to sell them to me.

He get's all pissy, and rings them up.

He tells me that he wanted to pick up some $5 PS2 games for his kids, and now he can't.
BECAUSE OF ME! ...... He goes on to tell me the whole story again, how I was the only one who came in about these games. That now, the games are all pulled, and he can't get them.

He said I should've kept my mouth shut, and kept it on the downlow, and I would've had everything on my list. Then, I turned around, and pointed to the guy I gave my list to, yesterday. I told him it's his fault for showing the manager.

The guy I was pointing at, got real hot, and was like, the sales not until next week. It wasn't fair.

I was like, I'm not hording games, just picking some up, to trade, and keep.

Then I went to leave, and the security guy stops me to check my receipt. He asks where I got the list. I told him my cousin. He asked for a copy. I said go talk to the guy in the media dept., because I just made him a copy.

He said thanks.

So, I single-handedly ruined this deal for everyone in my area,...that's the sad part.
Nobody even knows about this deal, except for the CC employees now,....so that's the FUNNY part.

They had every single title on that list, except for a few of the rarer games. So it really sucks. I wonder if they'll be putting all of them back out. Or I'll have to ask for them....?????

I wonder.

Damn, I never liked CC they were always uptight by my house. I only start going (to CC) when I did not have internet and I would wait for BB to have something cheap go to CC their and have them do their pricematch +10% off thing, and I would always get attudie for doing so becuse I lived where BB & CC where about 300 yards apart.

Well, ya gotta realize that they are in essence our enemy and we must pierce they're stronghold of high prices. You opened the gates for they're anti-CAG forces to enter. I say MAKE A STAND!!! Or just tell him that no sale was announced and that you'll tell his manager and every other person that is higher than him that he's being a dickwad

Why do people get so upset. I can understand people getting a little annoyed by some guy cleaning out their store. I can even condone their complaining, which I think is valid. But it's no readon to be rude or harassing. It's not courteous.

I mean, what's next. Are people going to firebomb CC's as payback? Are they going to start beating the people with a list in their hands.

When I went today The cashier asked where I heard about these games i was getting for 5 bucks and I just said "there's a list on the intermet" I didn't tell him where to find it and the words "cheap" "ass" and "gamer" NEVER leave my mouth in a single sentence while I'm inside their walls. Paranoid?

Not after reading this thread.

All this for some mostly shitty games. That IS sad.

I gotta say, most of the games on the list aren't that good. VJ Ikaruga, Ico, Disgaea, and maybe some Xbox games are as good as it gets...

Uh, VJ, Ikaruga, Ico, Disgaea and Rez are enough to get seriously excited about. Aside from that, there isn't much, although I might go back tomorrow to see if I can get Lunar Legend or Tactics Ogre, since I didn't know they were $5 when I went today.

I have most of the good games that are on that big master list already (what few good ones there are). There's maybe a handful I'd have passing interest in, but not enough to drive an hour to the nearest CC. Most of these games seem like they were in the big BB clearout as well.

Anyhoo, enjoy your 2002/2003 sports titles and 200 racing games!

There are enough titles there to be worth going after even if you deduct the sports titles. Some of these are games most people feel like they'd only pay 5 bucks for but that dosent mean they dont want them. Lastly not everyone is able to jump on everyone of the deals (the BB one inparticular I got NOTHING out of not because the games were crap but because they were all GONE by the second day.) So getting a jump on the deal may be a little more important to some than it is to others.

Damn that sucks. When I check out the sale I'm going to keep my list hidden and on the DL.

When I went to CC this morning I told them jack freakin shit about how I knew which games were 5 dollars, hell I didn't even share my list with fellow shoppers, just got what I wanted and got out of there with a grin on my face. That story was a great example of why being nice doesn't work out sometimes, lesson learned LOL

Yeah, my wife called me an idiot.

I don't care, I thought I was heloping someone out.

I got enough games, and thanks to Shady, my wife got me all my GC games.

I'll be back on the 11th.

Well, at least they're restocking them on the 11th, and you got 13 games before the managers decided to be a dickwad and close it all out... gotta look on the bright side right?

And don't feel too too bad, I looked at the list and got 5 pretty good games, then came back and found Mario party 4, viewtiful joe, and a whole shitload of other games. I'm going back tomorrow... but I'm sorry you gotta wait till next sunday. But hey, play those games while you wait, and be there at opening time. ;)
