Well, I have little room to talk. I could definitely be accused of being a hoarder myself. I bought somewhere between 70-80 games. A few of them, I will end up selling for a profit, some I will sell at/near cost or trade on here, most I will probably keep. I have already sold one at cost to a CAG locally, and have promised another to a local CAG, and there are more to come.

While I agree that the early bird catches the worm, I do have sympathy for the people who wanted that $5 game, but were unable to get it because someone bought all 5 copies to sell for a small profit. I also can empathize with CAGs who would rather have seen you offer the games for sale/trade on here instead of selling to a local shop that will most likely triple the price or more. Yes, it would have been more hassle for you, but you probably could have made just as much, possibly more, by offering them here first. And if you got no takers here, you could still sell the remaining games to your local stores.

just wait 10 days, file a non-paying bidder report, then wait the other required number of days and file a final value credit report. you won't get back the 40 cents or whatever listing fee, but obviously you will get back the final value fee.

i suggest that you switch all your auctions with buy it now to require immediate payment, (that's what i did after this mess). that way if he (or anyone else in the future, really) attempts to do something like this again it won't be so simple.

the interesting thing is that my ebay name is not "thatstoobad", it's "accordionwolf", and it seems that the person may have known that (or maybe it's just coincidence). i made a post about a few of my auctions a while back, but it's long been off the first page. oh well.

i did a search by bidder for the three known account names, and it looks like he messed with 28 auctions. that, and he bought a book light for $3, which is kind of confusing.

still, i sent ebay an email about it and am interested in what they will have to say about it, and i hope that the peopel who were burned a bit more severely can do something about it. i am more than willing to help in the process, and want to quite a bit, because this whole situation is ridiculous.

if we ever do get an IP address, though, it would be nice if you could ban this kid, for the multiude of obvious reasons. but i'm sure you've already thought about that.

I thought there was some way to look at his IP and tell what region he lives in or ISP he uses?
Then you could match those up with his known emails and all the suspects you have to see if any are similar to narrow the suspects down.

im with u here, he only did it to 1 auction and i know i will get that credited, its just the principal of what this person is doing, but sadly we have no clue who it could be, and something tells me ebay will be no help at all

Yeah and this is what I have done. I will not disclose my findings yet. I am sure that the perp is reading this thread. I dont want to let them know what I know. I know a few of you wish to contact the authorities and such. I suggest you go forward with whatever you wish. Mostly make sure those ebay names get banned. Ebay will be quick to ban this guy for using multiple accounts.

dragging your name through the dirt was wrong, but I have to admit it did look suspicious with the AIM messages from your account and such.

and looking up the value of a house is easy. Its public information and very easy to get. I know sometimes in school we used to look up where teachers lived to see (not to do anything but just to see how much their houses were worth)

It sucks that PDS' name got dragged through the mud, but you have to remember that he would have never even been a suspect if it weren't for that harrassing IM to punqsux from his account. Sure, he says he didn't do it, and I believe that, but it doesn't change the fact that it was a very malicious and suspicious-seeming act that happened at a very bad time as this started coming to a head. Any anger from PDS should be directed at this friend who sent the IM.

At best, file the paperwork with eBay and relist it. Hope someone buys it and move on from there.
