I could be wrong, but I thought those screens came from a tech demo to show off the PS3 and not an actual re-make. But I haven't followed it that closely either.

These are definately the tech demo screens shown at E3. Notice the date these were put up.

I imagine all of squaresoft's manpower is behind the various FFXIII games, the FFXII spinoff for DS, and a new Kingdom Hearts, if anything. Not to mention probably helping Enix out with DQ9 on DS, and the Wii game. Plus Crystal Chronicles Wii, and the PSP FFVII game.

FFVII remake isn't even on the horizon, if it ever becomes true.

These are from E3 Tech Demo for the PS3, like Final Fantasy VIII did with the Playstation 2. It would be nice for a remake though.

You know, I really got my hopes up, but then I saw the OP.

I thought this was about FF7 on PSP. I already told you several times over that there was just a tech demo, nothing more.

The President of SE announced that there wasn't going to be a remake about 15 seconds after the Tech Demo was shown at E3 '05. Even if there was a remake, I certainly wouldn't buy it for full price. Sure, FFVII was good, but it doesn't really deserve a full remake 10 years later.

Unless they can really add something aside from better graphics, I'd much rather see SE focus on making something new and original.

i remember that someone from SE said before that they wouldn't be making any remakes if they can still run on current gen systems, so seeing as how FF7 can be played on the ps3/2/1, I don't think they're going to pick it up. I'm sure they know how many rabid fans of ff7 are out there. If they do start work on a remake it'd probably be because the head of SE was threatened at gunpoint or something...


I'm one of those guys that wishes they would get to work on a remake though
