True, they didn't remove that part of the written description. But since it can be added to your cart, I assume it can be purchased. Amazon wouldn't allow you to add it otherwise.

Well pick them up. They are only producing 100k which might seem like alot, but when you consider there are 9 million users... thats pretty rare. Not to mention TONS of people will be OPENING these as soon as they receive them. Give it a half year or more when they are harder to come by sealed, and I gurantee you the eBay prices will go for $150+ maybe even more. I just got my copy from Amazon, apparently a few people canceled thinking these would be easier to come by, but down the road that won't be the case.

They're kind of rare. A lot of eBayers bought them up, but now that the market has tanked, they're trickling back in. Good way to pick one up without the resellers killing the joy.

No forced bundle anymore...? Wow, now I am convinced that this game is indeed not LIMITED or a COLLECTOR'S because eb/gs has had this thing up on their website for days now and its still in stock! I am taking mine back to walmart. There is no investment hear. I actually kind of feel bad for wow players...having this special pet won't even be a big deal since everyone is going to have it.

Prices aren't as ridiculous on eBay now. What happened? Did Blizzard make more?

we have no idea!there are no confirm number to back up this claim according to gamespot article.

When asked how many copies of the Collector's Edition would be released, a Blizzard representative told GameSpot, "We're unable to provide a specific number, but we can say that a very limited quantity of them will be made and no more will be reprinted after the initial allotment."

i bet you guys anything blizzard made some more of the collector's edition, i still see that game everywhere... it must be blizzard's business strategy to start off selling them limited then MASS produce them. Probably not a good idea to buy and try to resell for now.

OH jesus christ quit your fucking bitching. You bought it for one reason and one reason only, to make a profit on reselling it. If you actually played the game you wouldn't care because there's so much stuff in there that makes it worth the money. Now you're not gonna make any money on reselling it so your gonna be pissy about it? You should have known the risk of reselling when you bought it, just look at what happened with PS3s.

Well, I ordered one. I sold my original Amazon preorder (which was only $59.99 back then) for $195 when I saw how much they were going on eBay, and I've been too busy to buy the regular edition in the meantime. So if this comes through, I'm set.

Haha, I didnt buy any to resell. I have the regular BC. its a lot of fun and you have to know that buying and reselling off ebay has no risk... you can always return it which made this kind of business so popular... LOL

Exactly, the only reason kevzik is throwing a bitch fit about it because he's not gonna make any profit and have to end up returning it. Its not like he's even going to be out any money on the deal just the opportunity to profit on some WoW player.

I admit I am bitching, but not making profit a isn't really triggering me to complain. Its the fact that Blizzard stated that it would be limited edition. Blizzard didn't necessarily lie, but it seems like they were really sneaking when doing this.

CAGs: Do you agree when I say its very hard to believe this to be a C.E. when Fry's still has it on shelfs and GS/EB removed it from the force bundle...

Yes, I am whining about not making money, but at the same time I feel tricked into thinking I was getting something special.

Now everyone who really wants one can get one. The people who wanted to make a profit aren't going to make shit on it which in my opinion is a great thing.

Blizzard did not produce the collector's edition as a way for people to make extra cash on ebay, they created it as a way to give their faithful fans a little something extra with some fun little perks.

You know, just for the sake of history, I thought I'd point out that the original WOW Collector's went on clearance at some Targets. Plentiful supply right now (especially a week after launch) does not foretell the future value of the item.

That being said, more players actually being able to obtain the CE is a good thing in my book.

Hmm. I already bought the standard since EB screwed me on the CE. Do I buy it now? I mean, for a pet? That's all the CE is...everything else goes on sale at blizzard.com eventually.

Thats not always true. Most people buy CE ad LE stuff to resell but some of us buy it for the actual collection value....which is very little if they are sold in abundance. If this thing doesnt get up to $300+ like the last I wont be bummed. But if it doesnt atleast break $100 and stay that way I will be very dissapointed. Any item thats a CE, especially if it claims limited supply should ATLEAST increase in value by atleast 50% if not flat out double.

Again tons of assholes buy stuff just to resell and it sucks, and ill admit in some cases iv sold stuff, and in many im tempted to even if I dont sell(if this BC CE gets up to $300+ ill be tempted). But that doesnt mean all of us buy for that reason. Some of us just enjoy collecting rare stuff releated to our intreasts.....if its not rare then ya sure its still a nice looking peice.....but its a nice looking peice everyone else that likes the game has.

There never would be a collection value... once people stopped playing WoW and moved on to something like WoW 2 in 10, 15 years or whatever, who is going to want a CE for a game no one plays?

Nobody.

Thats not true. First off MMOs, especially popular ones can last a long long time. Second off RPG fans are known to be nuts for collectible items. I doubt it would be worth $100s but there is a good chance it could have held off at atleast $100-$150 which would be perfectly acceptable.

If you've already upgraded your account with the regular edition you cant upgrade it again with the collectors.

The artbook will be available seperately, I'm pretty sure of that (just like the original)
The soundtrack will be available seperately (just like the original)
Nobody would be playing the game once they moved on.
The exclusive in-game pet will be worthless by that time.
RvB told me there are rumors the "exclusive" CCG cards will appear elsewhere.

All you're left with is a mouse pad and a behind the scenes DVD.

I'd be real surprised if that held its value down the line, just two items.

lol, no wait, Blizzard even offered the behind the scenes DVD on sale seperately too from the original WoW CE. So eventually, the CE will end up with one exclusive item.

Eventually you can buy all this shit seperately since Blizzard loves $$$.

I'm glad I'm not one of those fools who bought this just to let it rot on a shelf... the thing is awesome, and the artbook and in-game pet are easily worth the $30 extra. I've actually got my extra on sale for cost right now since I want someone else to experience this.

it also pisses off the people who thought the ce would be rather limited. Everyone I see online has the damn whelp so it was a nice waste of an extra $40. At least with the original there are only a few with the panda/zergling/diablo pet.

Actually there were a bunch on my server when it was new. Main reason you see a lot of netherwhelps right now is so people can say "I SPENT $30 FOR A BLING BLING PET DAWGZ", then it'll slowly die off and they'll mostly be left on people who sit around org/IF all day chatting instead of adventuring.

I am kinda glad that there are enough copies for people to enjoy, though. I thought about trying to preorder a copy for Ebay, but game scalping makes me feel dirty and I didn't. Just bought a normal edition for myself since I have a hard time spending $70 for a game I then have to spend $15 to re-activate and then for every month after that.

Remember guys, the original WoW CE was still in stores a week after the game came out, and look at it's value now.

It's limited all right, but the only two good times for putting it on eBay are right after launch, and in like a few months-years.

And honestly, this is an excellent CE. The artbook alone is worth the $30.

This is the way I am looking at it. I mean if it doesnt go up in value im going to be pissed, and pissed enough to send blizzard an email. However, atleast its a nice CE and im not stuck with something that cost me $70 and is crap. I mean seriously the Xpack never would have been cheaper then $20 used on ebay....and now I got a bunch of nice stuff including the box with it. It will be a nice display peice....even if its not rare...fucking blizzard.
