Would you?

Lets say Nintendo released the following GameCube games on the Wii with Wiicontrols only:
Zelda - Wind Waker
Super Mario Sunshine
Metroid Prime
Smash Bros Melee
Luigi's Mansion

They were all $29.99, $10 more then the Cube counterparts. Would you buy them?

Zelda - Wind Waker - maybe

Super Mario Sunshine - probably

Metroid Prime - no, since corruption will out do it. if it came out before corruption, then yes

Smash Bros Melee - probably not

Luigi's Mansion - no

Only things like Pikmin where there would really be a reasonable advantage/improvement with the Wiimote would I buy for more than I could buy the Cube counterpart. And from the initial talks months ago, those are the sorts of games they will be considering remaking.

resident evil or any fps (metroid included, then sure... as the wii has made console fps' playable by me.

Only Metroid Prime....simply cause I havent played it yet and cause the controls would (probably) be better/more fun.

Fuck no. They need to work on new games, not remake old games.

Maybe Mario Sunshine but that's only if I can block out the memory of how annoying and frusterating and disappointing it was when I played it the first time.

I would not rebuy any of those. If twilight princess had actually come out on gamecube before, I wouldnt have bought the wii version either.

Oops! I did it again.

Not a single one. Not even Mario Sunshine, my favorite game of all time. No remakes.

Resident Evil 4 - in a heartbeat
It would be really cool if Resident Evil 4 with Wii controls (and a real 16x9 mode) was included as a bonus in Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. I doubt it would hard to do and it would be a huge selling point for both people who never played a Resident Evil and Resident Evil fans.

Zelda - Wind Waker
While I have yet to play a better game than this (keeping in mind I haven't played any next-gen games), I still wouldn't pick it up. It's not like I haven't beaten it twice already.
Super Mario Sunshine
If it was done well? Sure! I've never actually played it before.
Metroid Prime
I've played it to death, and besides, there's no way in hell Retro would bother with any game besides Corruption at this point.
Smash Bros Melee
Considering that Brawl isn't even using the Wiimote for much more than minigames, I don't see why I should re-buy a game that I sold two weeks ago.
Luigi's Mansion
This is the only other game on the list I haven't played eighty billion times, but I still have no urge to go for it. From what I've heard, the Wiimote would really make the game a lot more interesting, but I'm still not too interested.

Also, I do not plan on buying the new Godfather, but I do expect I'll pick up the PoP remake.

SMS yes, Luigi's Mansion yes, RE4 yes. All would need updated graphics, etc. to take advantage of the Wii--slapping wiimote controls on top of a straight port won't cut it.

While Zelda:TP was a nice launch title, it was still a GC game. No more GC ports for the Wii, Nintendo. So if they'd decide to mine old titles, they'd have to put some work into them to get my cash.

I would definitely buy them all if they had additional CONTENT, not just new control schemes. (although I'd probably buy them regardless...)

Like a new dungeon in Zelda, new world in Mario, new wing in Luigi's Mansion, etc.

If they're made to use the Wiimote doesn't that make them a Wii game, or at least a port.

I would most certainly go for Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker along with Resident Evil 4. :D

I don't think there's any GC game I would pay to have on the Wii, unless they decided to throw some imports up there. (And they wouldn't.)

Only if they are very well made and are dirt cheap. Anything over 20? Hell no. And even then I'd have to be very selective about it.

I'm with (sigh) Tanuki on this one - make new games.

Besides, Mario Tennis Wii (you know it will happen) is basically going to be Mario Tennis GC with Wii controls and some added stuff, perhaps online. So why waste the time with a middleman product?

If you were going to bother with remaking titles, remake the N64 versions with updated graphics and Wiimote controls. That might actually be worth it, if done well. Zelda: OOT, Mario 64, StarFox 64, etc.

OoT, MM, and Wind Waker with TP controls on one disc would be an instant-buy for me, even at $50. The Wii controls were just more fun than the standard controller (which is not to say that the standard controller is bad by any means).

I'm playing through RE4 on the Cube right now (getting close, in 5-1!) and I could see it being a lot of fun with the Wiimote, but I'm not sure I'd buy it again.

Rereleasing the first Metroid Prime with Corruption's control would be a great way to generate hype for Corruption. It won't happen though. :(

I don't think I'd re-buy any those (although I probably would end up collecting them). Maybe Luigi's Mansion because that is one game on the list I don't have.

Like someone else mentioned, I think Pikmin would work well with a Wii Remote. Of course, if a sequel came out, that would be better :)

Luigis mansion MIGHT be alright...but I've beaten that game 8-10 times so eh...

After thinking about it for a little bit I think that Luigi's Mansion would be the best title to remake. I would think that it would be simple to make the nunchuck control Luigi while the Wiimote controlls the Poltergust. It almost seems to be begging to be remade.

If you didn't play this for the Gamecube you missed out. Not a difficult game by any means, but fun.

There were rumors/rumblings a few months back that a sequel is already in the works, which I am down for.

As for GC remakes, I wouldn't mind Pikmin or Luigi's Masion as long as they were sub $20 price range. I'll also throw in Second Sight. Psychic abilities with the wiimote would be great. Plus it was a solid title that warrants another play through.

I played, finished and loved all the games in the OP but I would not buy them again if Wii controls were added. I also still own all of them also.

Here Here, I second that, New Games needed even if just sequels. I hate UBI is just added wii mote to POP game and given it a new name (given it a new name is slay way of dupping money out of unsuspecting customers), it wouldn't have added much to development cost to develop new levels, new textures and a new story, they had the engine and code base from Tho Thrones, would have been cool if they did a Prince of Persia "missing chapters" that was nothing but extra mission for each POP game that just gave you alittle more story maybe be a 20 hour game for 29.99. Could have probally done nothing but that sold it for 29.99 and the only bad thing said by gamers/poeple would have been this is rehash modded gamecube game ... but if liked teh last one you will like this continuation. Instead of giving us a wii mote enable old exact game. If I hadn't already beaten Two Thrones on Gamecube, I would buy it for less than buyign the Wii Mote enable version.

Ya Luigis Mansion was a great game for the GC. I was shocked by the graphics when I first played cause I had come from the N64...even now they rock. Gameplay is really fun too...so I'd suggest it.
