Good show. I guess I'll enter again for Killzone Liberation. Finally got around to trying out the demo disc I had and I loved it, so I'd love to have the full version.

Working a real job 8 hours a day makes you sleepy too lol.
Things Id like to see on XBL
Real dollars would be nice, but I think they should atleast use a better conversion point thing like the VC for the Wii. 100ms points = $1USD. In other countries, 100ms points = 100yen or something. I cant see why they have to use a slightly tilted number system (80 = 1 dollah currently)
XBL clans/guilds/whathaveyou. Kinda like clans in games, but on a more global scale. You are also not restricted to only one clan either. This would be nice for multiplayer matchs where now you can join as a clan vs another clan instead of hoping that devs halfmush it into a game. Also some clan tools like maybe a simple calendar for events/bdays/etc.
Conference chat rooms. If we can talk in a game just fine with 16 people, I cant see why we cant have regular private rooms just as well.
Better downloading options. We already have this auto download built in but you cant set it to download only at midnight or so on.
I liked that whole standby option. The 360 is loud, and its in my room. It makes it hard to sleep when its WHIRRRING.
---
Also good job of (resistance)ing making pooty/burpy noices cheapy. I never cared much for the burping.
I do have one small teeny sugesstion for the CaG. I was wondering if it was possible to add bookmarks within the podcast so we can go between sections on an iPod and such easier. (like bookmarking major sections like cagbag and cagnews)
And because these smileys are silly, I shall use one. :booty: :booty: :booty: :booty:

As always, I enjoyed this week's show thoroughly. Thanks for the insight and entertainment!
I am also posting for the Resistance contest.
I can't come up with a sarcastic/smarmy, Resistance-related comment to appease Wombat's requests. I apologize.

Oh! I forgot to mention and rather too lazy to edit my original post... but...
Cheapy, i know you arent much a of a pc gamer, but if you liked the trains simulation game for the PS3, give Microsofts Train Simulator a try. It is a realistic simulation to having to deal with things like not jarring the poor customers at 830 in the morning. The version I played even had like the longest bullet train route or something in Japan.

I LOVE Viva Pinata. It is the only game other than the sports games that I have bothered to get all of the achievements. I'm sitting at 49/50, but all I have to do is get the 50 hours achievement and that will happen soon. Love, love, love it.
And I don't want any of your free games. I'd just end up selling them off since I don't have a PS3, and then I'd feel like a jerk.

I love this episode for one reason, and one reason only; ALL the Sega CD talk. WE NEED MORE SEGA CD TALK!
The rest was great too though. I was hoping you would talk about the Battlestations Midway demo...maybe next episode?

My dad suggested the date thing for the grandkids' photos, so I guess, maybe unsurprisingly, that dates are something the older crowd is more cognizant of.
As for the contest, if I win a copy of Resistance, I will buy a PS3! In maybe two or three years! Or if it drops under $300! Whichever comes first!
Cheapy's Crackdown impressions have made me do a 180 on this game. Now I want to download the game and now I want this game. Damn you Cheapy.

Got my birthday coming up and my wife has hinted at a Playstation 3 so yea.....VIVA LA RESISTANCE!
Speaking of Viva...and my wife....she's addicted to Viva Pinata, as a joke we looked to see what rank her highest garden is and she's in the top ten in the world and she's a level 75. I'm so proud! Now I've got to get her involved in shooters.

I'll second gunm's request for the name of the Kanji software for the DS that Mrs. Cheapy bought.
A quick search of DS releases with the word 'kanji' in them
gave me this:
Kanji Sonomama Rakubiki
Kanji no Wataridori
Minna no DS Seminar: Kanpeki Kanji Ryoku
Zaidan Houjin Nippon Kanji Nouryoku Kent
Shikakui Atama wo Maruku Suru: DS Kanji
200 man nin no KanKen: Tokoton Kanji Nou
Simple DS Series Vol 10 The Doko Demo Kanji Quiz
Nazotte Oboeru Otona no Kanji Renshuu
So which is it?

Another great CAGcast, and my first appearance in the CAGbag:)
Glad my poop story made you laugh Cheapy!
EVERYBODY'S got a poop story.
On another message board, I shared an unfortunate story about a commute to work, and I got like 4-5 more poop stories from other posters.
As for the discussion on appreciating current gen game deals, I certainly need them. I have a 360, but I STILL have tons of current gen stuff I want to play.

Few things about Crackdown:
1. In the demo, you can change your character . . . I didn't realize it at first either, but you can.
2. The black character doesn't have corn rows, he has short buzzed hair and looks a lot like Blade, :\.

This was another entertaining show in many ways. I never thought id hear Railfan being liked more than Resistance and Viva Piñata called shiny paper mache animal sex simulator 2007. The jokes about brown lines and poop were great
Ill 3rd the request for the kanji dictionary. Which one did Mrs. cheapy get you?
Out of curiosity what kind of new balances did you pick up?
I cant recall what your guys thoughts were on cooking mama for ds, but any thoughts of getting the wii version since its going to be released in Japan soon? Seems like a game your wives could play as well.
I thinking the adding friends for a small fee option sounds good for Xbox live. I cant wait for nintendo to do the same and have the old guy from zelda saying “I bet you’d like to have more friends” and takes some wii points from you
Put me in for resistance fall of man

This episode was an instant classic...from Wombat's description of "Viva Pinata" to Cheapy D orgasming on air over Fallout using the Oblivion engine.

Interesting...what exactly is the DS Kanji Dictionary called? Does it translate in Hiragana/Katagana or English?
Also, is this something available on Play-Asia?
And, for the record, I hated (http://www.spotanime.com/2007/01/11/short-legs-for-viva-pinata/) Viva Pinata.
Its pretty sad that the best game for PS3 is yet-another Train simulator. I'm not too down with longer shows. While I agree that I don't listen to the CAGCast for news, I find myself going crazy if I have to listen for longer than around an hour.
I'd like Killzone for PSP.

Ooo a date with Wombat. If you're ever in Ohio, I treat you to some Bob Evans. As for me talking about the lack of Wii titles, my point was that I didn't see why you excepted a bunch of Wii titles to be released this point in time. The PS3 is having the same problem but I don't see you guys talking about that.
Thanks for letting me know your life is very boring Wombat. :)

I actually have grown to really liking the show. At first there was some Resistance, but I came to realize that listening to it wouldn't cause "The Fall of Man" or anything of the sort. Now its the First podcast I listen to and that saying alot.
A little bit of critique....
What the heck were you crumpling in the background at the opening of the show Cheapy?
Good umm... bowel control. Keep it up. you so totally vlurped.
Yeah... I kinka have to agree with a previous CAGer, Wombat... relax, relight, release.... you seem less animated then usual.
all in all a good cagcast. As a sega fanboy I loved the closing :D

Really liked this episode. Mainly because this had Wombat being... dare I say it, funny. He's been a little annoying at times in a few of the recent episodes, but this time he was genuinely entertaining and it really helped make this one of the better shows overall.
Cheapy didn't quite manage to sell me on a train sim though... I import more games than most people, but... c'mon, they're fucking trains.

Been listening to the CAGcast for a while now--one of my favorite podcasts, and I listen to a lot of them--about 100 minutes a day. Just wanted to write in and say thanks for flooding my brain with memories of Sewer Shark, Night Trap, and the Marky Mark make your own music video game (personally I had the Kris Kross version). I'm wondering how many people that listen to the CAGcast are old enough to remember/have owned these Sega CD gems?
Great job with the show!

"Man who sleep in bed of nails is holy."
I've wondered about the full motion video being used in games more often. The screens I saw of the train game you talked about looked very good. Can't wait to see if your right about another one coming out too.
And 1.5 update had more then just the card reader stuff. Fixed most of the PS2 viewing problems on the PS3.

I have no idea what you are talking about...
My bad... Between Hotspot, Next Generation.biz, EGM Live, GFW Radio, I Up Your and IGN Game podcast, CAGcast's sound quality is on par with Hotspot (thats saying alot).
Being in NY (you and wombat may know about this) I pump the volume to the max on my PSP (I use my PSP to schedule RSS downloads) to drown out the sounds of the City; People crying for help, gun shots, you know... the usual. On the bright side, I can actually hear and listen to CAG and Hotspot with out rewinding or straining to listen over the sound of the trains. The downside is once I'm in a fairly quiet area, I can here your lips smack and Wombat drink from his glass (1:05).
Bonus... Your Vlurp was... distinct and full bodied. If you flatulate I bet I could hear the echo.

I can confirm that some people i know have bought the Wii just for Wii sports, they just love the simple gameplay and the fact that it comes with the system is just awsome.
Question (s?): Cheapy have you used your PS3 to watch video's and whatnot? I personally feel like this feature is fantastic as people can download and transcode video's from their PC to PS3 quickly (but unfortunetly not that easily.) This is a great feature on the PSP that is often overlooked aswell.
Also, are you guys looking foreward to Mass Effect? I have noticed that this game has not been getting very much hype to the surprising fact that it looks like it could be the best game of 2007.
PS: I loved the part where you guys talked about how wombat couldnt keep his job (haha, just kidding, always aim higher and whatnot) and *cough cough* RESISTANCE FALL OF MAN.

Hey there Cheapy, and Wombat. I would like to win the PSP SOCOM Fire Team Bravo prize if selected.
And to thank you for telling me about the Game RailFan. While I am praying that this game is worth $69.99 from Play-Asia, I am confident since I have enjoyed most of the games that Cheapy has recommened in the past.
I love the show, it helps at least one hour of my work week go by, good luck to Wombat with his new job, working really cuts into a persons gaming life does it? That is why I play the lottery twice a week!
Great show guys. Rail Fan FTW! Well maybe not but if your'e having fun with it that's all that matters.
Resistance Please.

I like the longer show better as well. You guys are still doing a great job. I would like a copy of resistance
Enjoyed the Viva Piñata discussion and I'm glad you're getting into it, Cheapy. I agree it's difficult to nail down the target demographic for that game--but I don't think it's too complicated for kids. My 10-year-old daughter, on her own, took our garden from level 10 to level 20. As you noted, you don't have to get into the micromanagement of everything. The game will progress, albeit at a slower pace, if you just perform some minimal functions.
I really think the key demo for that game--and one I'm not certain they're even marketing it for--is girls in general. I think VP is a perfect Trojan Horsetachio to get your significant other into a game. My wife hates video games and, while I haven't gotten her to actively play VP, she takes part in the naimng, mating, and design decisions of the garden. It's a game that a female of any age can play--because they won't be put off by the cuteness of it, like many males will (sweeping generalization--sue me).
Thanks for another great episode Wombat and Cheapy.

I don't get it...why buy a system to play something you can do in real life? Do we need virtural bowling? I can bowl in real life at a fraction of the cost of a Wii!

Great show guys. Cheapy you had me crackin up when you were telling your story from when you crapped your pants in the 2nd grade!!! I think we've all been there at some point in our lives.........er ok maybe not lol. I also enjoyed the talk on the train sim. I kinda sounded like one of the Microsoft Flight Sims but with full motion video.
Also I just want to say that the only bad thing about the cagcast for me personally is the lack of pc gaming talk in general. I'm not blaming you and Wombat or anything because I know you've said before that you were never really into pc gaming much. I think 2007 is going to be a really great year for pc gaming. With Windows Vista launching soon along with Live Anywhere later in the year I think this is going to be a critical year for the future of pc gaming. The downside to all of this is the pc's needed to run some of these new games (stares at you Crysis) are going to be very expensive to build/upgrade. But hopefully a few years from now the majority of us can enjoy these new games on pc's that can run these games and run them well. Anyways just a little food for thought.
How was that Wombat??? Pretty thought provoking stuff huh??? Ok well maybe not, but that is more than just posting the name of the game I want to win.
Oh yeah...... Socom FTB 2 :D

Hearing that the most exciting game for the PS3 right now is a Train Similuator where you have to make sure you're still on schedule makes me glad I still didn't get one yet. As for Viva Pinata, maybe it would have sold more copies if it was advertised as a sex simulator. I was impressed with the abilites available in the Crackdown demo, as jumping from rooftop to rooftop doesn't appear to be getting old anytime soon. However, I'm disappointed that there is no plot to speak of... at all. It's basically, you're a generic super cop, kill gang member A to get to gang member B which means you can now kill gang boss C.

Dear Wombat, like a lot of things in life as you know it's all about presentation, not content. Cheapy's life is interesting not just because he's our "Man in Japan" but also because of the personal way he tells the story. To better illustrate, recall the time Cheapy was telling us about his trip to Thailand with Mrs Cheapy, like his and many vacations there are parts that are by nature bland unless you choose to inject a little personal touch to the events that unfolded. Don't just list the facts, explain how it's affecting you or even just tell us a funny thing that happened to you that day. There are times when your true side comes out and you just need to keep it up. As a blessing and/or curse you have a following and we want to know more about the "CAGMan in NY".
Hey Cheapy maybe you could find a trailer for the Train Sim game on a Japaese website that you could link, I'm very interested in seeing gameplay footage of either you or someone playing partcularly if there is an FMV game out there that is actually decent.

I'll agree with sinewav's comments regarding Wombat. I'll only add that, from what I've heard (since show #54), you come off as embarassed about your life in general. Perhaps that leads to you being "cryptic" about it, perhaps not. I do enjoy the dynamic between you and CheapyD though. A lot like Perfect Strangers, audio only.
My pick for prize would be Resistance: Fall of Man. Keep up the great work guys, longer is better!

Great episode!
I like the idea of paying a small fee to expand the number of people you can have on your 360 friends list. I'm at 98 right now, and I hate having to delete people to make room for more. I hope Major Nelson was listening to that one, though it's doubtful. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of PlayStation Network friends you can have?
But if they let you expand it I also hope they allow you to sort your friends into groups. 'Cuz if there were 200 people on my list I'd barely be able to keep everyone straight.

I think you convinced me to try Viva Pinata, especially considering Wombat's amusing description of the game. It's not like I don't play "cute" games (Katamari), but something about the placement of that title on a system like the 360 didn't make much sense to me.
Resistance would be nice, since I still haven't bought a game for my PS3.

im sure its been posted, but you can select from about 6 guys in the demo. just move your selection cursor to the face and move left or right. it was also noticed thet there are femal agents, but it is doubtful you can select one in the retain game.
also it seems that there will be some later customization to your chosen character. in the background of each character there is another version of his face with edgy hair and tattoo's. so something to look forward to.

I never said I was right, I just said that it may not be a gamestop decision to charge the extra money, would it really shock people if we found out that Game Publishers (nintendo or a 3rd party) were charging eb/gamestop more money for games in order to even out the money lost from used sales?

General relativity was developed by Einstein in the years 1907 - 1915. General relativity replaces the global Lorentz symmetry of special relativity with a local Lorentz symmetry in the presence of matter. The presence of matter "curves" spacetime, and this curvature affects the path of free particles (and even the path of light). General relativity uses the mathematics of differential geometry and tensors in order to describe gravitation as an effect of the geometry of spacetime. This theory is based on the general principle of relativity, which requires all observers to experience the same laws of physics, not just those moving with uniform speed, hence its name.

Good show but Wombat needs to bring some stank to the show. CheapyD always has some story and tells it in an entertaining manner. Wombat, on the other hand, is mostly there to throw in quips and "poo poo" on everything. No offense. It also appears that Wombat does not prep for the show as much as CheapyD. While I love Wombat's zaniness, I think that the show would benefit from Wombat taking a more active role in the show's planning and presentation. I understand that Wombat has a regular job that zaps his energy, but he needs to kick it up a notch.
Someone else posted a similar comment in this thread, but I wanted to throw in my two cents.
Maybe Wombat can create a "Your Guy in NY" segment that details the triumphs and tribulations that come with being a nine-to-five work drone who aspires to break into the video game industry while living in the "city that never sleeps" ?
Anyhow great show!

After reading that, the FIRST thing that came to mind was . . . WOMBAT!
Wombat, if you can, try and sign up for that. It's in New York and it'll:
A. Let you get a sneak preview of sorts of Bioshock which you can talk about on the CAGcast
B. Be a good experience?
Heck, you'd be getting paid to play BioShock . . .
Just thought I'd mention it.
