Can a PSP USB cable charge a PS3 Controller?

Just checking to see if they use the same small USB connection on the end that plugs into the controller, and also checking if the PSP cable is able to charge the controllers battery.

That same cable will work. Most devices use that same USB cable that the PS3 uses for controllers. I have about 10 of them from cameras, mp3 players, etc.
