Man, it seems really hard to get some official info on this title. All we ever hear is rumor, and then it ends up being confirmed a few weeks later. Well, here’s another set of rumors concerning the game, let’s see what happens with these!

- The Bio Hazard series on Wii is NOT a side story game, it is a main stream series game
- Story is straight after Code Veronica (so Code Veronica -> BH Wii -> BH4 -> BH5)
- 3 main characters
- Jill is confirmed, 2 others still not confirmed
- Rumour is that Wesker is the other unconfirmed character
- Game system follows BH4

I really hope these come true, sounds like a good setup to me!

I'm not sure if this was posted already but this sounds like some good stuff here. It's a main stream series game and the game system follows RE4. If we get RE4 with Wiimote controls I am definitely in!

That is sounding pretty hot right now. I can't wait for actual concrete info on the game (and of course, the game itself).

Not to mention the fact that I'm expecting Capcom to push the envelope with graphics as they have with their good GCN games. This could be one of the best looking games on the Wii when it hits.

Whether or not I buy this game boils down to one thing: Does it play like RE4?

If it does, I'm in at launch. If not, there's no way I'm touching it.

It sounds like it has the same mechanics as RE4, and that's a great thing, so I'll definitely get it.

QFT. Sad as it sounds I'm more excited about the 360 Resident Evil 5 (as long as it plays like RE4) because true widescreen and HD make me

If it ain't broke...

I'm so glad Umbrella Chronicles doesn't appear to be the R.E. Tomb Raider Chronicles, i.e. a collection of 'greatest hits' sequences from previous games tied together by a threadbare 'narrative' and a couple S.T.A.R.S. members stuck in a meat cooler recounting their fondest memories...until they realize that a.) one is the master of lockpicking and b.) the door was unlocked the whole time!

To be fair, Tomb Raider Chronicles actually wasn't a collection of missions from previous games. They were all new missions that simply were untold from Lara's past.

I actually enjoyed Chronicles much more than some of the previous games.

But back on topic, I can't wait for Umbrella Chronicles. I really do hope they change the name or something though. Umbrella Chronicles does sound like it'd be a TR Chronicles kinda game.

it's interesting how resident evil 4 for gc looks better than anything on wii.

and it's 2 years old

we know the hardware is capable of it... so lets see some action

That would be fantastic. Fantastic I tell you. CV had my favorite story of all the RE games and I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Jill.

The thing about the RE4 control scheme is that the aiming of your gun and the turning of your character using the joystick is slow, as an intentional game mechanic. After all, it's not Counterstrike; in the name of balance, they can't have your aim flying all over the place at super-speed. How they'll manage this out with Wiimote aiming, I don't know. People are going to have a tendancy to turn their Wiimotes FAST.

Having literally just beaten RE4 this afternoon, I'm excited to hear more about this. Hopefully Capcom will throw us a bone at some point, but I'm guess it's kinda far off.

We will make the fourth game 7th, and the 8th game takes place after the third between the 5th and 6th and...

Either make the games in a series or just make them side games!

If that's the case, they shouldn't have to work to slow it down.

In the third person case, it's not hard to adjust the speed of the pointer from a developer's standpoint. So even if people are trying to whip the remote all over the place, they can make it slow to react.

Isnt Code Veronica takes place between RE2 and RE3?

There are issues, though, when you're turning your Wiimote fast and your crosshairs don't keep up. What do you do? Keep turning it? Before you know it, the Wiimote is pointing out of range of the sensor bar.

I just have this gut feeling about the awkwardness of it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: fuck the bounding boxes. Turning should be mapped to the D-Pad.

This game needs to be like RE4, I doubt they'll stray away from such a successful formula.

if the game even plays half as good as RE4 then it will be a must buy

If they ported resident evil 4 with Wiimote control, I would buy it. So I am going to buy this as long as it is resident evil 4 style. If it is like classic resident evil I might (depending on how good it was) pick it up at a CAG price. Hopefully this comes out before RE5 meaning Q4 this year.

Wow, I'm thrilled to finally get some info on this game! As far as control schemes go, unless I'm misunderstanding what you guys mean (I don't play a lot of FPS), it doesn't seem like it would be very difficult at all. The wii remote should serve as your gun, the nunchuk your feet. Don't allow the crosshairs to cause you to turn if you take them to the edges of the screen. This should prevent people's aims from being so spastic.

Using something like C + left/right on joystick should make you turn. I was thinking just left or right (no C), but then that would create the awkward walk / turn / walk style that the first few RE's had. Then you could even throw Z + left/right in as a strafe or something. Like I said, I don't know if I'm missing something, but it just seems very doable to me.

As a side note, anybody ever play RE: Dead Aim for PS2...with the guncon? Man, I freakin loved that game. There's nothing quite like the feeling of holding a gun and actually blowing zombies heads off...with recoil and everything. If Capcom could combine that experience, with RE4's playability, I'd be in undead heaven!

I'm excited for 5 too but I think that won't be hitting until 2008...so if we get this at the end of 2007 it will be the perfect game while your waiting for 5. Also even though I now have an HDTV, as long as it looks as good as RE4 I'll be happy.

I really hope Capcom can get this game out by Christmas 2007; RE4 came way too late in the Gamecube's life to save the system. I hope this is just the first of potential AAA 3rd party titles on the Wii.

That goes to show what happens when a game is developed for a single system and not multi-platform. This is why I have hope for Wii-specific titles.
