in their weekly circular that starts this Sunday (1/28/07)- Wal Mart will have a minimum of 5 Wii's per store, 1 per customer, no rainchecks.

Don't except to much guys. My friends' walmart got only 5 Wii's in. his stores has the Wii's on lockup until midnight Sunday going into Monday. So good luck.

Funny they say 1 per customer now when they gave out more than one to any customer willing to buy more on launch night. :-x

Hey guys - Sorry to break the news but the allocation of 5 units is for THE ENTIRE WAL MART CHAIN and not 5 units per store. Hope this helps.

You can't sue just due to false advertising alone, you have to have incurred some form of compensable damages (i.e., the life preserver was made with holes that did not allow it to float as advertised, and you had to be rescued, incurring a bill for said rescue, and then you can claim accompanying punitive damages).
I am mad though about the only 5 in the entire chain. How did that get screwed up?

If you have a Sams Club, check it out. My wife ran into some Wii's today there and we picked one up. It's a bundle but the best one you'll ever find. The Wii plus Zelda for $300. It's too bad I had already bought Zelda when the Wii came out. I now have to try to return it.

Hey any CAG's in Columbus Ohio? The Wal-mart here just started selling them at midnight and I picked up 2!!!
Just got back at 1:30 a.m. tonight from picking up a Wii at Wal-Mart. The guy was even cool enough to hold one for a few minutes when I called at 1 a.m.
They were pretty much cleaned out of accessories though.

w00t just got back from one of the local wal-marts got home and in a drunken stupor decided to call and see if they had any in stock. they amazingly still did so i drove out and made it there about 3:30AM and bought one of the last two they had in stock, so pumped! :bouncy:

My friend got one this morning at a Walmart. They got in 26 and there were about 18 people on line waiting for one when he got there. I can't believe people that many people are still lining up early.

that was about the same for my wal*mart this morning.. i was #15.
unfortunately, they only got in 8 nun-chunks, so i guess i'll have to wait in another line next weekend.

Got one this morning at local Wal-Mart. They had around 10 left when I left there. Got in 19. People are really still lining up for one but I think it is dying down a little. I think because people have given up trying to find them since the debacles over the holidays. You may be surprised. Plus this time of year is slow.

Today I add another complete failure to the list.
The website said the store opens at 10AM on Sunday. I believed it, and showed up at about 9:30. They were open already.
I then noticed that the hours on the store window said the store opened at 6AM. I was four hours late! I went home, checked the website again, and it still said 10, I wasn't crazy.
Damn, well, I'm not getting up to get Wiis at Walmart at 5:00AM, next time they have them. I'll just wait for someone who opens at a reasonable hour to get a shipment.
Oh, and it's nice to know Fate still has it in for me.

Well, you aren't alone my friend. I went to Bestbuy twice when they got shipments in before Christmas and both times was around an hour before they were suppose to open and I didn't get one. Also, tried Gamestop several times when I knew they had some and couldn't get one.
Funny story about Gamestop is I went to several when I knew they got a shipment of systems in before Christmas and they wouldn't sell one to me when I went in on Thursday becaucse corporate said they couldn't officially sell them until Friday and then when I show up Friday after work they were all gone.

Went to my WM at 830 am this morn and there were none on the shelf!
So I asked the sales person if they had any Wii's and she said yes!
They were keeping them behind the counter, heh. She said they received 50 of them and they had sold 15 already. so I got mines, yeah!

Owned again, they said 10am they'd sell them. Turns out they released at midnight the night before because of the line. Sold all before they went on shelves. I swear I'm just not meant to get a Wii.......

they are still OOS where i am. out of pure luck i got the second to last one at eb yesterday. didnt even know they got them in. i was in the mall anyway so i decided to stop by. i asked the guy at the counter and he said he would check(why he didnt already know im not sure) he then came from the back room holding my wii. i was so happy and have been having a lot of fun.

I managed to land one in a pretty painless experience. The Wal-Mart near me is 24 hours and I called to see if they were doing a midnight release. They were and I showed up around 11:30. There were 14 people in line in front of me and we were told they had gotten in a shipment of 50. The line probably got up to 30ish people around midnight.
Two funny things:
1) The first guy in line got there at 4:30 pm which is just ridiculous
2) They had us line up in lawn & garden until it was midnight, then took us to the customer service area at the front. We all stayed in line and it felt like the gaming-nerd parade at Wal-Mart. The looks we got were interesting.
Anyway, got my Wii, love bowling and fingers crossed on gameznflix sending out some Wii games soon. Thanks OP.
