View Full Version : Couple quick questions about the PS3?

Just got a PS3 (waiting for my HDMI cable from monoprice to get here to hook it up) and I had a couple of questions. How do PS2 games look on the PS3? I heard they are upscaled to 480p is that all the games or only the ones that support progressive scan? Also do DVDs upscale and if not is that something they plan on adding? I have a lot of imports for my PS2 I'm pretty sure those won't work but does anyone know if they plan to make some sort of swap disc. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Nothing upscales AFAIK. PS2 games actually look worse on PS3 than they do on the PS2.

Yep they did.
If you haven't already, update your PS3 to the latest version to make sure your PS2 titles will look alright. The images will look compairable to the PS2 so no worries.
The imports, should still be regioned locked. So your right they might not work but never hurts to try.

2 Months after release, Sony fixed the PS2 graphics problem. DVDs can still not upconvert.
