Yes, it did, and nintendo has not replenished the supply at all. Basically every store around my area has NO nintendo systems whatsoever, aside from a lone gamecube or lone gba sp. I have only seen DS lite systems in stock ONCE from black friday up until today out of all the stores in my area. I have never seen a Wii in stock yet. Note that there were plenty of sony systems, ps2's and psp's on the shelves all throughout the christmas season here. There are also plenty of ps3's in stock here, no one seems to want them and the psp supply hasn't been cleaned out at all, most stores have them in stock and have had them for the entire holiday season.

Thankfully I already own a black DS Lite that i purchased in october when supply was plentiful. I also checked the store locator and theres only a few gamestops in my area that have the DS Lite systems in stock, and most only have 1-3 systems in stock.

Christmas murdered stock of all things nintendo, especially systems, games seem to be plentiful though as i have no trouble finding games. Strange for my area as well as magically no one cares about video games for the rest of the year they only care at christmas time, but this christmas seemed to absolutly deplete all stock from my area whatsoever.

They had several at a shitty TRU near me about 2-3 weeks ago. They also had Wiimotes which were hard to find then too.

Thanks OP! My brother has been looking for a ds lite for a little while now and now he should get one. He ordered one from TRU.com last week when it said they were in stock but he got screwed on that because they were backordered and their stock hadn't updated to show the change. I don't understand DS's popularity. I own an old, ugly silver DS and bought DS Lite the day it came out which I preordered a week before. It was never popular or sold out, and now it is, and honestly, it's not the greatest system in the world. It has to few games and most of the games are mindless messes.

You've got multiple RPGs, deep strategy games, great 2d action adventure games, admirable platformers, a great set of online games, one of the best puzzle games in years, the rebirth of the point-and-click adventure genre, and a host of truly novel software... and those are just the games that have grabbed my attention, not including the Star Foxes, Brain Ages, and so forth that other people love.

It's also worth remembering that the DS has only been out a hair over two years... we've still got years of new software ahead of us.

wow thats crazy....i actually called up my friend who manages the eb in my local mall and he told me the same. he had to turn away parents asking for the DS Lite because they had none. boy nintendo really came out on top during the 4th qtr didnt they.
