View Full Version : Any chance of Castlevania: Bloodlines coming to the VC?

It seems like since Konami has already released Super Castlevania IV to the VC, there's no reason why Bloodlines shouldn't see a port. This is one of the many Genesis titles I missed out on when it was first released. I'd love a chance to experience it in all its glory on the Wii.

Well? Anyone think we'll see this happen?

I think it will. I mean, both Genesis and Konami games are already on the VC, I don't see why this one won't. I'm sure it costs them next to nothing to put the games out there, so I don't see a reason why they wouldn't want to make some extra $$$$.

I'm still hoping for Dracula X: Chi no Rondo

Dracula X would probably have to be translated first. I'm not sure why Konami hasn't tried to release it in the U.S., seeing as it was the direct prequel to SotN.

It would be cute if they threw it out there the same week SotN hit on XBLArcade. Give a little loving to two different consoles and all.

Likelihood? Nil, but sometimes it's fun to dream.

Chi No Rondo and Bloodlines are the two Castlevania games I have never played. Well I played the snes Dracula X, but I heard it pales in comparison to the Japanese original.

I'd be shocked if this didn't come out at some point.

Rondo may be unlikely here since it would need a translation as noted above.

Once they're done milking the games that were released here I wonder if they'll consider it.

I'm thinking it has to BUT... how come no other publisher has had a Genesis VC game other than Sega yet? We've seen other publishers for NES, SNES, N64 (eventually), but why not the Genesis?

It kind of worries me... you think we already would have heard about Konami releasing some of their awesome Genesis games, because Contra: Hard Corps was pretty bitching too.

If there's a just God in this universe then every SNES, Genesis, TG16, NES, N64, and...Gameboy...yeah, game will be released on the VC.

You really didn't miss out on much by not playing Bloodlines. It is probably my least favorite game in the entire series since it first came out and has stayed that way (although the Dracula X port here is god awful).

If anything would get me to finally drop money on wii points though, it would definitely be a translated Rondo of Blood. This is the game everyone should be begging Nintendo/Konami for since it really did establish a lot of stuff used in SOTN such as the same character sprites for a lot of enemies and an increase in exploration from the straight action that most of the series had outside of 2. The game really does hold up well and is still a blast to play even though I've run through it multiple times on my computer and Xbox the past 5 years.

I can't really give you a specific reason why, but I actually really enjoyed Bloodlines. I think it would be well worth a release on the VC.

On a related note, I'd love to know the story of how the Symphony of the Night development team managed to confuse Bloodlines and Dracula X for the opening scene of SotN.

Haha yeah that has always bothered me with the opening reading "Bloodlines." As ridiculous fan service if they ever do release Dracula X, it would be funny to see that story buried in the Wii game instructions.

I always thought of the opening "Bloodlines" title in SotN as referring to the Belmont line, seeing as you're later stuck with Alucard for the bulk of the game. Also, doesn't Chi no Rondo -> 'Rondo of Blood'?
