Telltale games is looking to hire a Wii programmer with a love of adventure games. This could mean that Sam & Max are on their way to the Wii. Even if it doesn't the Wii is still set to get an old school adventure game!

Well this is just confusing, I want to play the last 2 episodes, but how do they plan on releasing the series on the WII? If it's episodic I will wait on getting them for the PC and get them on the WII instead... But who knows if this is even for sam and max.

I imagine if it does eventually end up on Wii you'd get a "Season One" package with all the episodes. The Wii isn't really designed for episodic content as much as the 360 and PS3 (due to lack of hard drive). I'd prefer to buy it that way, anyway.

They were thinking of using the Virtual Console, but ran into problems with lack of storage space on the Wii. But they did get in contact with Nintendo a while back and have expressed interest in bringing the series to Wii, in one form or another. If there is enough demand it should happen.

I hope it's the whole series!

Damn, add a question mark to the end of the thread title, I got excited for a minute.

Lucasarts just needs to do a "classic" pack on the wii: Full Throttle, Maniac Mansion, Secret of Monkey Island (all of 'em), and Day of the Tentacle

That would rock my socks.

I'm currently adventuring it up on my PSP with ScummVM and replaying all the classics.. but I would definitely buy a day one Sam and Max Wii game (or any adventure game that was half decent, for that matter).

I would be so in and I planned on buying the Sam and Max on PC today.. I will still be doing it but keeping my eyes open on the Wii for sure.

This could be a nice revival. Nintendo really needs to look at the adventure game market and with the wii its a perfect fit.

Praise be!

I already love the Wii. If it singlehandedly brings about the resurrection of the adventure game genre, I will have its babies.

Telltale Games' response (from their forums, http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1981):

We haven't made any announcements about why we're hiring a Wii developer, and we really really haven't said that we're working on a Sam & Max game for the Wii.

If we do such a thing, you guys will be the first to hear about it, surrounded by 800 gigantic trumpets and probably some cherubs or something, but as of right now, you're talking crazy talk if you're saying things about "replacing your license with the coming Wii one."

As cool as that is to think about, don't get too far ahead of real life

Sooooo...what? They expect us to believe they're hiring a Wii developer to water their plants?
