View Full Version : Neutral feedback for shipping in under a week

Some lady just left me a neutral feedback for her item being delivered in exactly 7 days. She paid for first class shipping and I shipped it the very next day. That is so fucking annoying! Where do some people get their transit time expectations from? I mean, isn't one week really good for first class? Fuck...I hate people sometimes (not you guys of course)...

1 week isn't bad, First Class takes 2 - 10 days usually. Neutral them back. I hate unfair feedback, all of neutral and negs were those type of unfair situations except 1 neutral which I still don't think was really my fault.
I'm adding them to my blocked bidders list

Neutral feedback for under 7 days is inexcusable. I've only gotten "super fast shipping!" type of comments when my item reaches a buyer within 7 days of payment. Dunno how I would respond to her but I'd rather have no feedback than neutral for shit like that.
At least a neutral doesn't affect your rating. Take a day to cool off before leaving her return FB.
My only non-positive is from a buyer who left a neutral comment of 'good game' I was royally POed when I saw it, but I slept on it and decided to not leave any FB for the buyer. I think some new buyers (not many thankfully) think neutral FB is to be left when the deal is average. Meaning the item was as described and shipped in a reasonable time frame.

Doesn't it say in every auction that the seller is not responsible for transit times?
Sheez, that's nuts.
My only neutral came from someone who complained about some ski bindings I sold him. I stated the size very clearly and I got neutral'd:
"great deal, but it doesn't fit my skis"

I'm going to add her to my blocked bidder list. Man, I must have about 100 on the list.

I never bother leaving neutral feedback. If I'm unhappy with my experience but its not really deserving of a negative I just don't leave feedback at all. I'm worried that if I leave neutral I'll get a retaliatory negative in return so I say to hell with it.

If she left a neutral, leave her a negative... if she wants to be an asshole, be one right back, because she can't change her feedback.

Yea people on ebay are seriously retarted. Some guy never paid for my auction I filed a NPB and he said he would pay so I closed it and got my credit. Like almost a month after he comes back and leaves me neutral feedback saying he never got his item buyers beware. So I just negged him for that seeing how he deserved one in the first place for not paying.

Motherfucker! I just got another fucking neutral! "Game looks good thanks!" What the fuck is wrong with these people?

That sucks because she can clearly see that you did ship it first class. Did you use a delivery confirmation because that might show when you mailed it too. I sent a package from NJ to MA via 1st class (just after Thanksgiving) and for 9 days it just said "Accepted" at my Post Office - nothing else. But on the 10th day it was delivered. They buyer was very patient (especially after I told him I would refund his money if it didn't get there in 3 weeks) and gave me positive feedback.

(Kinda) happened to me. I bought a rather hard-to-find record of one of my favorite bands, described as mint, only to find that there was a rectangular residue on each of the 2 records (on the labels in the center) the size of a generic price tag, as if each one had been priced seperately! The plastic sleeves they were in wouldn't even come off b/c they were stuck to where the tag used to be, and when I tried to get it off, it ended up eating away at the label.
I was so pissed off! I left negative feedback, but then he did the same thing to me, which was completely unwarranted since I paid within an hour of the auction ending, etc.
In retrospect, I probably should have e-mailed him 1st, but I have a feeling it wouldn't have mattered since he already had my money.

ugh I had this happen twice to me in trades over on GameTZ, someone brand new to the site bought a game off me, I shipped the next day and it got to him six days later (five business days since sunday doesn't count) and he didn't leave me an excellent rating in speed :| and the guy after him did it too (ruined my perfect 100% rating there)

Luckily I haven't had this happen to me. But if it did, I'd probably just leave a retaliatory negative. If a request came through to "mutually agree to remove feedback," I'd have to sleep on it first before deciding. Not sure what I'd do.

I think it's always best to e-mail a seller if there is a problem before leaving feedback. When I sell something, I'd be a lot more willing to handle a problem if a buyer contacted me first before leaving negative feedback.

I leave negatives for neutrals , simply because in the 3 or 4 i've gotten I never once got an email asking to resolve it before feedback was left.

heh, i get loads of negs on my buying account because if i leave a seller a neutral for example, selling a game that said "game and case" in auction, then i get disc only, and i ask them about it and get no reply, i give neutral feedback and they retaliate with a neg. I couldnt care less because my feedback on the buying account sucks.
I think its pretty funny when sellers do that sort of thing, it isnt like i can lose my buying account for having a lot of negs. my buying account is in the 80% range heh.

Well yeah but you said it yourself, you at least ask them first before leaving a neutral, which is completely warranted . But when I have gotten neutrals out of the past they just came out of nowhere with no emails and usually involved stuff I would have resolved easily.

Wow. Surprised to find that some users have buying and selling accounts. Use the feedback dispute through eBay, you may be able to cut off the neutral count. Threaten her with Negative for being unreasonable.
I wish you the best of luck. As a current 100% feedback seller, my biggest fear now is an unreasonable buyer. Hence, I overcompensate buyers, and handle them with utmost care. A bit too much, perhaps...

eBay doesn't remove feedback unless it contains racism, curse words, etc. They say that they can't remove feedback based on opinion (like if you complain that negative feedback received was unjustified) because they weren't part of the transaction.

That same exact thing happened to me and it pissed me off. This was back when I was getting back into eBay after a few years of inactivity and, like a dumbass, had already left him positive feedback for payment.

Yeah me too, I'm at 302 with 100%. My bud's at 298, and he was actually relieved when he got his first neg.
He figured he could neg those who screw him without fear of ruining his perfect streak, but the neg got neutralized.
I overcompensate like crazy too....it hurts now, but I guess the numbers look pretty.
Add the bidder to your blocked bidder's list and wait about 85 days after the auction close, so there's little chance of the buyer having the chance of filing a chargeback if they paid via paypal, then leave negative feedback. Buyers will never learn unless some negs them for petty stupid crap and it gives other sellers a head up not to cut this buyer any slack

If you sell a lot or even if you don't eventually you will probably end up with a horrible buyer and get a negative no matter how well you treat your buyers. I try to treat my buyers well (fast shipping, refunds if a legit problem, fast repsonses to questions about shipping after the transactions) and still have a few negatives.
