Who expected this?

It also seems that VG Charts has redesigned the site, since they now require registration to view more of the charts. They also have a predictions league (http://www.vgcharts.org/predictions/)for seeing how close you can predict sales figures.

Not horribly surprising after seeing it on the Famitsu most wanted poll for a while. Strange nonetheless.

I just wonder if we'll be getting RotTK on DS here.

I'm Shocked!

Most these americanized violent video games don't sell well in japan.I'm surprised capcom took a risk publishing it.They probably add back hot coffee since japenese culture is less offend by it

Capcom's been the publisher for the series in Japan, except for Vice City, which was banned if I remember correctly.

Capcom pushed San Andreas pretty heavily, looks like it paid off.

Will the Japanese general population now think that San Adnreas is an accurate cross-section of american society? It remains to be seen...

Just as Japan is filled to the brim with extremely extroverted, available, big titted girls with purple hair and huge eyes.

Wasn't San Andres banned in Japan for quite some time?

I can see the appeal of GTA to a Japanese audience, actually. They love vast games that you can do a lot of random stuff in. Just look at their RPGs.

They did have a pretty big marketing campaign.

How the hell is Wii Sports up there? Does Japan not get it free with the Wii or are they counting the ones that came with the Wii?

It's not included with the system

I'm surprised about that. I don't think there's anything worse in Vice City that GTA 3 or San Andreas (except maybe the spotlight for Candy's movie and the Movie Studio mission cutscenes)

It's a pack-in for the US and Europe, not Japan.

I'd love to hear the Japanese voice actors in the game.

The Official Japanese site (http://www.gtasa.jp/index2.html) seems to suggest that it's in English with Japanese subtitles.

The GTA series is one of the few non-Japan developed games that has a big following in Japan. I think Japan gamers have been complaining for years that GTA: SA hasn't been released in their country. Plus, they must have taken their sweet time localizing it for Japan. I wonder if they included Japanese Pop Songs in the soundtrack, that would be hilarious.

If they added a j-pop station to the radio in the Japanese release, I would SOOO import that in a heartbeat! lol

The Japanese trailer is pretty much a subtitled version of the commercials we saw here in the US with the same Guns 'N Roses music. Besides, why would they get rid of all of the music that was picked out for the game?
