Resistance Question...lost game saves?

Ok, I was pretty far in the single played campaign and I let my wife's younger brother play my PS3. Anyways, I think he started a new game and it erased my progress....totally sucks (what kind of asshat creates a game that way and not allow multiple saves anyways).

Anyways, am I screwed? I see I can choose LOCATIONS from the select, but if I beat that part will the story continue or is it JUST playing that location?

I think it is just like a bookmark, so you can jump back to any part and play forward from there. It won't go back to the menu or anything after you beat a chapter.

You can only have one file going at once, so yes if he started a new game, then that would erase your progress.

Well, hopefully I can pick back up. I know I would've lost all my progress in that last chapter....pretty lame though.
