Hey all,
I saw the Wii LAN adapter at Best Buy today, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these. I have a wireless router, so I don't need one. But I'm wondering if the LAN connection is faster than the Wifi. Now my router is right next to the Wii, so I'm getting a good connection, but sometimes I have trouble connecting to the store. Would the adapter fix this?

wrong forum.
yeah...wrong forum. You should know better!
About lans, wired is always faster than a wireless connection, granted you're not using old technology. If you're getting a good connection, the problem could be with the store's server's connection, not yours so I would lay off buying the lan addapter.

considering the wii doesn't currently offer any online gaming, much less any other feature that dependent on the connection speed, i'd pass. VC downloads, internet surfing, and sending messages to your buddies's wiis isn't going to see much of an improvement in speed. unless you just have the extra money lying around, forget about it.
btw, connecting to the store is typically hit and miss for everybody just because it is the wii and not your router. hardwiring it isn't going to make it any better. i have to try and log on to their online store about 2 -3 time on average before i finally have success

Well, Wireless isn't exactly slower. Depending on signal quality, most routers are sending at 54mbps, which is probably faster then your connection, signal quality and stuff like that are all big dependents.. but in your case.. not at this moment.

Thanks for the help, and sorry about the wrong forum. I thought I was in the Wii section, but it looks like I hit my Back button one too many times. Now, I can't figure out how to move it. So again, my apologies.
