Ace Combat Fans

Who else here was a big Ace Combat fan and can't wait till they come out with a Next-gen one on PS3? Those games are some of my favorite and I can't wait to see what Namco is able to do with the PS3 seeing how they always pushed the ps2 to it's limits.

P.S. Anyone heard anything about a game like this?

If I'm not mistaken, they said one of the earlier PS3 updates made the AC4 flight stick compatible w/ the system. That could be a sign that something is already in the works. Plus, with Sony & Namco having formed this new partnership, I imagine we'll see a lot of big Namco franchises on the way soon.

They did a Ace Combat game for the PSP which got pretty good scores, so I would hope they would try their hand with the PS3.

I'd LOVE some strong online multiplayer content.

This is what I expected. Kind of weird that Microsoft keeps doing this, but Namco and other companies would be fools not to take their cash "advances". How many more titles that are "exclusive" do you think are timed only?

I just got the May Issue of OXM and of course, they wouldn't pass up a chance to preview a former PlayStation exclusive hitting their console. Anyways, they do little tidbits of information at the bottom of the pages and at the bottom of the first page for the Ace Combat 6 preview reads:

YAY! No reason for me to buy a xbox 360 anymore!

BTW, to answer your Question Nam, I think a lot of games will be like this because quite frankly games made by Japanese developers just don't sell that well on the 360 in Japan compared to the PS3 so therefore they lose a lot of money in that market.

I knew MS probably threw some money in to get AC. AC has always performed well on PS platforms and MS badly needed a flight game on their console, and who else better to ask than Namco (plus, they won't make another Crimson Skies).

I've only played AC5, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to their next installment. I only wish the flight stick were a little more easily obtainable (read cheaper).

No joke, Ace Combat games were some of my favorite on the ps2 and I can't wait for the new one, and I don't badly need a flight game, I badly need a GOOD flight game.

As for Blazing Angels, I was talking about a real flight game with real planes (ones like Ace Combat/Air Force Delta type. There just aren't many good flight games anymore.

Last generation, PS2 was loaded with flight games (although ones outside of Ace Combat weren't that good), while Xbox only had Air Force Delta (and oh course Crimson Skies, but that's a little different).

I doubt you could count all the flight games on the PS2 and call it "loaded" with flight games. I don't think I've ever played one, and outside of the Ace Combat series, I couldn't tell you of any.
