Are you sure your not doing anything wrong and its not a hardware problem?

I would suggest taking it back and replacing it with another one. Unless you got one from someone on ebay, then you're screwed.

It might not be a problem with your NA or PS2, but instead your connection settings. Double check, triple check everything if you're connecting with a broadband ISP. Have you tried calling your ISP about it also?

What ISP do you have? Are you using a router? Are you using Automatic connection or Manual connection?

The fact that it tells you connection test failed says two things:

1) The NA is working
2) The settings you are telling it to use are wrong.

It also suggests the following:

3) If you are using a router to share the broadband signal, the router may be interfering with the connection.

My experience with the PS2 NA has been that using it in conjunction with a router is not a reliable setup. I have only found a few routers out there that will work 100% with the NA. If your ISP supports PPPOE, which most do nowadays, simply connect the PS2 NA directly to the DSL or Cable modem and input the username and password settings for your broadband account into the NA setup menu. If you don't know what PPPOE is nor do you know the account settings, call your ISP or ask your dad. :D

Im currently using the NA with a router and have had no probs. When it asks you what kind of connection you have, select LAN

Where are some good games that use the NA? (exclude Socom and sport games)

What Error is it giving you? It could be your ps2. I was getting the error like DNAS ERROR 881 or something and I called sony and they fixed my ps2 for free. Check out their forums and it will help you a lot!
