I assume if you like Fantomas, you probably are a fan of his, so I have to ask, what is your favorite project of his from the last few years? Grrrrrr...
Wife just called. She went to visit our friends in Buffalo this weekend and couldn't drive home last night because of the weather (road closings and such). So she turned in the rental car and opted to fly home. She had a layover in DC, but because her flight was delayed, her and a few other people missed the connecting flight, so she won't be getting home until tomorrow morning.
What ticks me off is that the airline is only covering half of the cost of the hotel room. (Whenever I missed a layover because of a flight delay, they always comped me a full room.)
Oh yes, and to make matters even more fun: she was pick-pocketed in the Buffalo airport. A few frantic calls between me, her and the credit card company later, the police caught the guy in a security check, so she got everything but $8 back. <whew>
Still, I can't wait to hear her vent tomorrow...

<whew>
Still, I can't wait to hear her vent tomorrow...

why does the letter d face one way when capitalized and one way when lowercase?
D
d
it's the only letter that looks completely different in upper and lowercase (might make a case for Rr or Qq, but its easier to see than Dd
Why do you think about random things when you should be doing homework? :)
If you make the loop of d larger/taller and flip it around, you got yourself a D.

That wifi adapter blows. Couldn't get my Wii to work with it and barely got my DS to work with it.
Hell yea it blows.
But it gets the job done. My Wii connects to it but it's got to be facing the right way at the right angle with just the right amount of twist on it for the Wii to pick it up.
If I happen to bump it by accident, there goes another hour of my life trying to get it just right again.

yeah, to deal with B and D having similar lowercase transitions, it seems. But what came first? I'd assume the Uppercase letters, from the greek symbols, yes? I think this is interesting.

So true... I found it somewhat sad and somewhat amusing that I saw that they were giving people who came for on-campus tours, that are always on foot, bus ride tours instead of walking tours. Yet they couldn't use a couple extra buses so students don't have to wait 15 minutes in the bitter cold waiting for a bus. Honestly, it's faster and warmer to walk to class than to wait for the bus except for the rare occasion when you just make the bus at the exact time it comes.

That's what I liked about going to Wayne State in Detroit - my buddy and I, explorers that we are, found the underground tunnerls that connect most of the buildings that most students didn't know about. It kept outside exposure to a minimum and always felt cool to come out of unmarked doors to the surprised looks of passers-by...

Weather has nothing to do with it. My teacher just couldn't make it, whether he was sick or not, so the class was cancelled. The only problem is that he doesn't email students ahead of time so everybody wastes time coming to class to find out that it's cancelled.

I can't really decide what is best, but I really love Lovage. And Peeping Tom. And Fantomas. And Tomahawk. Fuck it, the man could shit and the sound alone would be simply orgasmic.

She didn't even know she was pickpocketed until she heard our son's name on the over head pager. (She had his birth certificate on her.) She went to the desk and they had her wallet, all save her money and cards. She filed a report and then she called me to cancel her cards. After I did that, she was clled back up to the front where they had caught the guy during a security check. (I guess he had the card in his pocket or something - I didn't get all the details. He may have had more stuff on him...) She got her stuff back (except the cash), but she can't press charges, not being from NY - but the police said that the transit authority will press charges on her behalf.

Most states don't play around with DUI. Depending on your state of course. Most are very harsh on DUI's. Normally your first one is a big ass fine, and a few other fines just cause.
Normally the 2nd one gets you some jail time, probation, AA, and big ass fines,

So here's the story:
Saturday night, over at a buddy's place with a couple friends, doing some fairly heavy drinking. Come 5:30 in the morning it was time to head home, I was definitely still drunk, but I had my girlfriend with me and she had stopped drinking hours ago, so I was not concerned about our safety. One of my friends also decided to head home at this time. I knew he wasn't completely sober, so I had my girlfriend follow him down the main roads, as a way to monitor his driving and avoid a cop tailing him.
So we followed him all the way up to the road that went to into his subdivision and up to his house. Since he had been driving relatively cautiously and slow, we assumed he'd make it home just fine. Ah, please understand you must never assume.
The next day I called him to see when he was heading over to the Super Bowl party we were going to, and he told me that I'd never beleive where he spent his morning... in jail!
Apparently he rounded 3rd base for home incorrectly as his car's crappy tires spun out on ice and snow (Michigan winters will get you) and he went sailing into a fence. He was just fine, that's good, but his bumper was cracked and right mirror clipped, that's bad.
He then drove his car out of the fence and back home to alert his parents as to what had just happened. His neighbors weren't home, so they left a note for them as to why their fence was destroyed. Then his dad, in his infinite wisdom, decided to phone the police presumably to have them get a record of the incident for insurance purposes.
Well the police showed up, didn't even look at the car, proceeded to administer several sobriety tests, all of which my friend failed, and they took him in. This seems fairly illogical to me, as he was already home, but, the cops do what the cops do. I guess the biggest mistake of all is my friend's dad deciding to call the police right then instead of waiting a few hours until he was 100% sober.
All in all, I think my friend has to be the only person I know that basically called the cops to come and arrest him.
The officer wrote him up on an OUI, took his license, gave him a piece of paper that was his "new license", and told him to call the court. However, the officer wrote no tickets and said he wouldn't ticket him.
So, exactly how screwed is my friend here?
I certainly feel bad, but then again, I did offer to have my girlfriend drop him off at home, and our other friends did tell him he could sleep there for awhile if he needed to, but since he figured he'd be fine to make the 5 minute trip home.

It'll probably be a Misdemeanor, he'll probably either have a $500 fine, community service, license suspend for a few months or go to AA type meetings. Or a combo of the above mentioned.
I know this is far fetched but if he had took photos of the incident and the ice he slipped on. When he goes to court that would help him. But tell him to go to court state his case and just take what ever they give him.

Yes, but you have to have fun with it. Like wither shoot mustard all over the piece in question and just leave it there, and say you and her marked your territory. Or don't do anything and when they sit down either jump up, arms flailing in the air, screaming bloody murder about how they are desecrating your sacred love nest, OR about how "I totally had sex there!"
There is no time limit on having fun in these situations.
Other options include chilli, various candy bars, mayonnaise, or numerous razor thin slits.
If you need to know a time limit in terms of hygiene, then anything past 12 hours is suspect.
If helps if you wear a lab coat while doing any of this. Or a comically large hat.

Well, they don't mess around with DUI/OUI here in the Detroit area, yet there was just a dude killed buy a woman driving drunk about a mile away from me. Turns out that woman is a friend of my friend's sister, and she already has three DUIs, but never lost her license.
The fact that he, basically, turned himself in may count in his favor, and it happened in his sub and no one was hurt. This crappy weather may also factor in, but probably not.
It really depends - he may get lucky and they will factor this in and he'll just get a nasty fine (since he already spent the night in jail)...or the judge may make an example of him - it *could* go either way.
I hate to say it....but he's probably boned. Expect a nice fine and probably a nasty license suspension. Of course...I'm not an expert, so there's a bit of hope...

Person A: Is totally disgusted no matter what, and would instantly jump off said piece of furniture. We also call these people virgins.

When I was in my late teens/ early twenties, all of my friends and I worked at a Tubbys. Since the owners were never there, and some of us had keys to the place - there was a LOT of sex going on in the back. The most prefered spot was the stainless steel table. I used to sit there and eat my lunch every day; I like to eat alone, so if anyone would come and sit down to eat with me, I'd point out how many times so-and-so did so-and-so until they were grossed out and went away. (Obviously, I'd bleach the table before I ate and none of my food ever actually touched the table.)
Then I'd eat my lunch in peace, free of having to put up with a banal, forced conversation with a 16 yr old...

No one I've spoken with can make any sense of it, just one of those stupid avoidable situations that could end up being very costly.
What I've told my friend is he's lucky no one (including himself) was hurt, or then he'd be super fucked. Hopefully this discourages him from even buzzed driving in the future. Next time he might not be so lucky as to only crash into a fence.

I had a tire blow out when I was 20, driving about 85 on the free way, I went spinning like mad into the median before coming to a stop. Somehow my car was fine, and so was I, but I can't imagine what might've happened in the same situation if I was under the influence. That scare and the time I started driving the wrong way home from my buddy's place drunk and turned a 4 minute drive into a 20 minute detour was enough for me to put 2 and 2 together.

If the FLATware is too dirty I either swap it with other nearby untensils or tell the server I accidently dropped it on the floor to get a replacement to avoid coming off as Captain OCD aka Marc Summers.

Every state has a different saying for drinking and driving. DWI, DUI, OUI,
