Not a bad deal for someone looking to get into the Sims games.

Yeah, that's a great deal, for people who haven't played any Sims games and are looking for a cheap way to enjoy them, I'd recommend getting The Sims: Deluxe Edition and The Sims: Vacation/Hot Date.

The Hot Date and Vacation preference should be up to you. ;)

Spending 20 bucks to get games which would cost you 40 together is a great value, but if you have extra cash to spend, I'd go for the "Mega Deluxe" set and the Unleashed/Makin' Magic expansion.

So many different combinations, I hope someone utilizes this deal well.

That would be "The Sims Online", which requires a monthly fee. Had potential, but I wouldn't pay 10 dollars a month for it.

In about 2 years, I predict all MMORPG's or at least MMO games will be free, it's just now the "break out fad" of games, and soon that will pass, and there will be less of them about the same things (I.E. medieval), and more creative ones (I.E. CoH).

I have never understood the appeal of these games. I played "The Sims" for about 20 minutes. On the flip side, I thought Animal Crossing was classic. What am I missing?

This game is the kind where it's either a love/hate feeling. It's a neverending game that attracts thousands, and annoys the hell outta others. :P Me personally, I love it and am eagerly awaiting The Sims 2 (coming out in September 2004).

Also, I'd recommend the Makin' Magic, Hot Date, and Superstar expansion packs. The rest are just fluff added to the game.

You just choose the option, but the online mode isn't nearly as advanced as you'd find in games which you pay to play online, but you get what you pay for, in this case, nothing. I've never played the online mode, as I haven't even played the game for more than an hour, but I hear it's good for the most part, don't expect anything major though.
