I sure hope that the phone number you used is not someone else's. As Foladar mentioned earlier you can just sign up for PrivatePhone from NetZero. It is essentially a number from any area you choose with voicemail. You cannot call from this number. It is free by the way, so I use mine to collect all those nasty calls, because using another person's real number is pretty bad...the spam mail is OK because at least they can recycle it and get money from that! lol :)

On a side note, I love gaminglagoon so far. I've earned 1600 MS points, 2000 Wii Points, and am about to use my 65.xx points to get Wii Play. I know pointwise it's a little overpriced, but I need an extra control and this is the best way for me to get it.

Create a support ticket to GL for manual credit of the offer. They're usually lazy bastards, but if you persist, they might give you the credit for it. In the TOS is says you can ask for manual credit for any offer you get disapproved on. You'll just have to include the email that says you completed the offer.

You could wait it out they add new offers every week/ every other week.

CC offers are all right but make sure to call the offers and cancel ASAP if you don't want charged. Make sure you get a confirmation number and the persons name you talked to.

Saw someone on their forums did the offer, but was disapproved. The mods basically said tough luck, as they do to everyone else. You could always try to contact support, but there's no guarantee you'll ever get your points.

In short, I'm staying away from anything involving a credit card since they can't seem to get their act together (and they don't care about people's problems). I'm still waiting to get credit on my Stamps.com sign-up (though at least they did respond to me and I will know within 10 days if I get approved or not).

All of this seems tempting but I don't like the fact that you have to give out your real info for most of the stuff that you sign up for. I've already got like 3-4 calls on my cell phone that surely comes from completing these offers. I just don't trust these sites with my personal info. I'll pass.

I checked out Gaming Lagoon after hearing great things about it here and elsewhere. Initially, I wasn't too keen on filling out surveys, but I stuck with it and quickly amassed the points I needed for the prize I wanted (an Xbox 360 memory unit). My prize was processed promptly. Unfortunately, there was a foul-up with its shipment, but Gaming Lagoon made things right. They quickly responded to my prize inquiry and immediately processed a replacement, which I received within a week.

I'll admit to be very skeptical at first, especially when the delivery of my initial prize was botched, but it all worked out in the end. If you want some free gaming stuff, I highly recommend giving Gaming Lagoon a try. Just make sure to have a little patience, and use some common courtesy when contacting them or posting on their message boards. It'll make things go much smoother.

I had this happen to me too. As soon as I saw the first 1.00 hold for what was "declined," I called all phone numbers for all of the offers I signed up for and made sure the account was cancelled. I only got burned by 1 of them, since I didn't cancel before the $1 charge went through. I did get rid of it before any subscription fees hit.

I did get full credit for the offers though.

1) You bet. Occaisionally you won't get credit for an offer, but you accept it and move on as the majority of them work.

2)I haven't had any spyware, adware, popups, etc. from this at all.

3)Legit so far. Perhaps you could do all your points with spam info, the same spam info for all, and before you cash in your points with lagoon, update your address to the correct address.

4)I haven't received any junk mail at my house. Personally, I think it would cost too much for this little companies - junk email is free for them to send.

5)See my #3. Perhaps. I used all real, and they suggest to do so as well. The main point is to make sure that it all matches up, that's how you get credit for doing the surveys. I used all real info so I wouldn't have to deal with correcting my address later.

You bet - you should use the same exact info.
As far as how far into the offers? I usually go farther than what is listed on GL. First two pages of the survey, ok, does that start after the first page where I put in my email and agree to the TOS? So I usually do more just to be on the safe side.

I usually just finish the surveys. They can be obnoxious, but it's usually not too bad.

If you get that error message...go back and hit "complete". Seriously, they act like you didn't get signed up..but you did.

Well what do you have?
If you have a Wii, then some Wii points are always good. I think 25 points is good for a Classic Controller AND a nunchuk (Im pretty sure the nunchuks are 25). Save a bit more and get a Wiimote if you need one, or get Wii Play, if you want that and need another remote.

If you have a 360.. um. they have a ton of stuff.
1600 points card, 3 months of XBL, Universal Remote are my picks of 25 points or less. Save and get 4000points or 12+1 months of XBL for 50 points.

Ordered the 4000 Marketplace card and got confirmation of shipping via Stamps.com within minutes. If I'm reading the confirmation right, it's getting shipped from a town about an hour or so drive from here. Would've preferred an emailed code, but it shouldn't take too long to get here.

Paypal has a virtual debit card (https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_vdc-intro) application in beta. Once you set it up, it's a little program that you run to generate a one-time use Mastercard number with an expiration of the next month.

It is linked to your Paypal account, so you still need to be careful with it. It's free, though (no per-card fees like many preloaded cards charge).

Fuck, I could've used this. I just spent my last $19 in paypal for THP8 (which I don't regret, I wanted the game). I'm guessing you still have to cancel everything just like it was a normal credit card though, right? You can't just click unsubscripe on paypal.

Well, Passport 2 fun fucked me.... I cancelled it weeks ago and now today they hit me with the 19.95 fee. Time to see how long I'm going to be put on hold.... so far 5 minutes.

Thanks everyone I came back with and I checked gaminglagoon and I got about 40 referral points!

The wedding was beautiful, the dinner and dance was great for the most part... (my sister got way too drunk and started some shit with my dad.... I exchanged a few words with the shitty DJ after I requested that no pop country was to be played but yet he played some shitty pop country music during the dollar dance of all times to play something that wasn't supposed to be played. This was after I bought the man dinner before booking him, telling him what we wanted and didn't want.) But everyone got drunk and had a great time.

The honeymoon was fucking awesome, Las Vegas was great. It was where the now wife and I went on our first vacation. We endded up seeing three shows; Cirque du Soleil Love, Spamalot and Louie Anderson. Love was a bit disappointing given the fact that the wife and I are huge Beatles fans and even love the Love soundtrack *no pun intended*. It was a good show but not as great as we hopped for. Spamalot was fucking great, I was having stomach cramps after the show from laughing so hard. Being an enormous Monty Python fan and the wife not so much but amazingly enough she probably enjoyed it more then I did. Last but not least Louie was the best stand up I have ever seen and I have seen my fair share of stand up. I Loved the Life With Louie cartoon when I was in high school and he even did the voice for me when we met at the autograph session after the show.


We staid at the Signature at MGM Grand for our first three nights then at the Golden Nugget downtown the last two nights. Both are wonderful hotels and got the best of both worlds.

I could go on and on but I know this isn't my personal blog so I will stop now before I get too long-winded.

My points equaled 60 previously and now it is 61 used. My current available points was 9.23 however now it is 8.23 - apparently the added 1pt is for shipping charges .. and I guess they were added to previous shipments (my WoW card was shipped in Feb)

Yeah, that PSP/DS is pretty awesomeness .. its a shame I'm never going to (a) get that many points or (b) save it that long ... still timecards for me, just about enough for another one. If you were charged 1pt for prior shipping (like mine was in Feb, and just charged 1pt) send in a ticket .. they refunded mine. However thats their new point total from this point forward.
