Corrupted profile?!?!? WTF happened?!??! PLEASE HELP!!

Ok I know there's a help thread and stuff..but I'm not sure how often people check so just ignore that fact and PLEASE help. I'm so confused right now.

Turned on the 360, and there's 2 profiles usually: Me and my BFs. It said "1 Profile found"..I check and his is only there. I go to recover it and it says "Can't save your profile on the selected storage device (HDD) please make sure the device is inserted correctly (I never touched the HDD, especially taken it off) and has enough free space (I have 10.6 GB left) and try again"........

Sooo..I go to the console settings, and look at the harddrive, and i click on gamer profiles. There's his, and then there's one with an "!" in a yield sign, and it saus "CORRUPTED PROFILE"

WTF happened????
I am PISSED and nervous now :(

just recover your gamertag from live, it will work. Thats what I did when my profile got corrupted

When I go to the console settings, and check the HDD.. and theres 2 profiles. His and one with a "!" in a yield sign that says corrupt profile. Do I delete that (since when I click on it, that's my only option....) and THEN recover it?

I would hate to lose this fuckin account. Not only for the mere fact that I had this since this past September and already have 6000+ points, but I still have until November for my XBL account...

And i REALLY don't want to call them assholes over in India.

Using my amazing detective skills, I have come up with a solution for you, lilboo!

I found several people talking about it and what they did was DELETE THE PROFILE but make sure to check 'do not delete saved games'. Then choose recover the profile and voila, it will(should) work.

..So WTF happened? Is this something that people randomly experience? The last thign I downloaded was Root Beer Tapper (LOL)

You're quite welcome.. it is indeed something people randomly experience.. I don't think there's an official answer on what causes it.. all that matters is that your profile is back and in working order.

Had it happened to me 3 times now.

Delete the profile and do a account restore. You shouldn't lose any of your saves or anything like that.

Overall it takes about 20 minutes to get everything back in order.

Yeah I chose the first one "Delete profile only", I kinda figured the other option would totally fuck me over lol

I really wish we knew what happened. This isn't cool at all!!
