Does anyone know of a price drop coming for Oblivion? I really would like to pick this game up but it's 11 months old and $59.99 is pretty high for a 1 year old game.

When the new expansion comes out, will they offer the game plus expansion for $59.99?

Or will the game just drop in price to $39.99 at that point?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Oblivion would be part of the next round of Plantium Hits.

There will not be a bundle. All the recent interviews are saying that the expansion will be download only for quite some time, if not forever. It has to do with the way the 360 loads content.

As far as price drop, it was 35 used at ebgames not long ago, but then they hiked it back up just before the holidays.

That would be the logical step, although it would likely be something like an Oblivion GOTY Edition that comes with code to download the expansion pack instead of a different disc or whatever. Different packaging maybe, but that's about it.

Man, I wish I could help ya, I know I got my copy for Christmas and my wife picked it up at GameStop when they marked it down to $30 or $40 for a week. Too bad I haven't had time to play that (or Chromehounds) since my time is limited and Vegas has me hooked.

DAMN YOU BACKLOG!!!!!!

I bought my copy for $30 at EB/GS, like four months ago.

The price-drop will occur a week after you buy it. :)

I've played a couple hours into Oblivion in the past and held off purchasing when I realized the glut of expansions that were about to hit. A special GOTY Edition with codes for KOTN and all other dl's released before/simultaneously w/ Shiv Isles would be ideal - albeit fantasy in my opinion.

you see the ad proudly displaying the drop

I am eagerly awaiting a price drop on this one.. Maybe part of the next bunch of platinum hits. probably those will come when the next big PS3 games come along, to help draw attention away.

Well if they wait for Sony it's going to be Christmas time. :(

Has everyone else heard that this is going to be one of the next Platinum Hits?

Yeah, I too am waiting for a drop....I guess I am just sick of paying full price for these "next-gen" current gen games. I am a cheap ass. I really want this at sub-$30 and there are some other 360 games that I will buy at sub-$20. But, I am not going to pay $60 for a game (not for a long time anyways) and have that "buyer's remorse" feeling when a few weeks later it starts to drop....more and more. I can wait.

Thanks, I may stop at Compusa today and see if they have it. Is the regular version 39.99 as well?

It's one of the few games worth full price.
