360 Live subscriptions and the original Xbox

I just lucked into a cheap 12-month Live kit for the 360. Before I use this subscription code, I want to make sure it will enable me to continue playing Live on both my 360 and original Xbox. Do I need to enter the code using the original Xbox dashboard in order to ensure compatibility? Normally I would assume this wasn't an issue, but I remember reading something about Live codes not necessarily being compatible with the original Live service.

And some more details, in case they are relevant: I am still using the same Gamertag that I created on the original Xbox. My current Live subscription was automatically renewed on my original Xbox, about a month before I bought my 360. Since then I've been using the Live service on both my original Xbox and my 360, with the same gamertag.

Stupid question. If I have my 360 gold live running is it possible to use that gamer tag on my old Xbox? Or is it a one way street?

Nope...account can only be on one at a time.

Nope...account can only be on one at a time.And, just to eliminate any possible confusion - by "one at a time" he just means you can't literally be using it on both machines at the EXACTLY the same time. The account will remain active for both consoles. Just shut off or sign out with one console before you try to use Live on the other one.
