2.) It's just plain assinine to rape someone's bandwidth by linking to a 3mb+ file on their website. Bandwidth costs money.

How about you buy the cd, rip the mp3 yourself, upload it to YOUR OWN webspace provider, and rape yourself all day...

Notice there ARE free servers that host music, notice, its not all illegal. There are many legal ones and those are the ones I am looking for.

Unreleased songs or .mp3's on the artists' websites are fine...but if they put out a CD and they sell the CD and the person hosting the .mp3 did not sign an agreement with the record company and/or artists, then it most certainly is illegal. By all means, open a newspaper.

Well im not sure on these kinda things but like www.launch.com has many songs although I cant link those.

And same with geocities, lots of hosted songs. Even xanga users have a site to have hosted songs. But seeing as techno/trance is not mainstream music its rare to find it.

Launch.com has those things because they have deals with record companies to help advertise their artists. You can't link to their music because then no one would see the advertisements that PAY for that music. Geocities only allows 15mb of downloads from a free site per day...so only 3 or 4 of your visitors would be able to hear it everyday(you being one of em), unless of course you PAY to upgrade the package.
