Eversince I got access to highspeed internet at home, I've always wondered how awesome it would be to compete with other gamers everywhere.

The only system that I have right now that is capable of playing online is my DS. I am a bit familiar with wi-fi, I just don't understand how it works, what's needed, and the obscurity of friends' codes is more compelling to me than ever.

I'm also looking to invest in a 360 very soon, and looking foward to multiplayer online, but I just want to know more... Where and how do I start? Is there a website out there dedicated to online-gaming-illiterate-beginners like me?

Thanks for any help.

If you don't have wi-fi in your house, get a USB wi-fi adapter to use your DS online at home. Or, just go to a hot spot (Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, your school, etc.). With the 360, you'll need to buy an Xbox Live kit. 12-month kits are relatively inexpensive, and many come with a free Web cam. Then, buy Halo 2 (it's backward-compatible and tons of fun) and/or Gears of War. Or, do a search for Live games and buy the ones that look the most appealing to your style of games.

That sounds like a good deal.

Also, if you get online with your xbox/360/pc/ps2,3 dont be surprised to hear lots of profanities and immature behavior. I dont think you have to deal with that with online DS/Wii stuff but look foward to it with your 360. :(
