Question about Hidden packages in GTA Liberty City Stories

I have a question. I've been playing GTA-LCS and I have been collecting the hidden packages that are left throughout the game.

There is one package which is on top of gas station which for the life of me I can't seem to get. The FAQ on gamefaqs stated that I'm supposed to get a motorcycle, drive off this dirt mound (using a white car as a ramp) and jump on top of the gas station. The problem is....I keep falling short. I must of tried like 10 times already.

Does anyone have another solution perhaps?

Take an ambulance and park it backwards with the ass end hanging off the ledge of the small wall next to the gas station. So the ambulance should be facing the junkyard with the back of it pointed at the package on top of the gas station. Jump up the front of the ambulance then do a running jump off the back end of it and you should be able to get the package. Play with the position of the ambulance and park it higher up the street if you're having trouble getting it done.

I tried it and it worked. It was tricky getting the back wheels out into the gas station parking lot but it worked.
