Hello,
I bought a PC from buyxg/cyberpower in December after my Monarch Computers debacle.
I just got the case, motherboard, cpu, PSU and one stick of RAM. I installed everything else from salvaged parts from my old computer.
I noticed that the tower was super sensitive. Any nudge, even if it's closing the front panel would turn the whole thing off. I wouldn't be able to restart it until the 6-7th time turning the power supply on and off.
I finally had enough and did that paperclip trick with the power supply each tiem it happened, and reconnected it to the mobo. It would work fine - only massive-tip-the-tower bumps would shut it off.
But the biggest problem now is that it doesn't start up easily. I wake up, go to turn it on, and the LED fans flash for a second and nothing happens. I do that power supply flicking deal about 7 times, and it starts up with no problem.
Could this be the power supply? I asked buyxg (after 2 months of no response from them), and they said for me to send the motherboard in. The thing is, I'm in the middle of finals and I can't afford to be without a computer. That, and the only reason I bought from them was because I didn't want to deal with installing the CPU/mobo into the case.
Here are my specs:
AMD Athlon™64 X2 4200+
Socket AM2)GigaByte GA-M55SLI-S4 nForce4 SLI Chipset DDR2/800 SATA 16x PCI-Express MBoard w/GbLAN,IEEE1394,USB2.0,&7.1Audio
NZXT PF-500 500Watt Power Supply
Any ideas? Thanks!
