Damn the shipping on that thing to Japan would be astronomical...

Just get it on MAME...the cab, other than the curved marquee, isn't anything special. One 8 way stick, a couple of buttons.

MAMEit! :)

I'm no expert but that cabinet looks pretty shafted.

As Headrusch says the MAME version works very nicely.

Is it just me, or was that arcade insanely difficult? And only one life per quarter.

Damn, my craigslist has no such deal. Only Pac-Man for $400

YMMV

That cab is in ok shape. No water damage that is noticable. Might clean up ok. $50 tops since you don't even know if the monitor works.

The Screen Bezel is missing (The glass with artwork that lays over the CRT), otherwise the cab looks in decent shape...hit it with some soap and water.

Pacman for $400 is a deal if its an original.....

But alot of this is also regional......

If it ever made it off the docks.. the Department of Homeland Security would likely read the crate labeled "Robocop Arcade Game," doubt that anyone would really want one in Japan, and think something was fishy about it.

I think it would be funnier if the crate was just labelled Robocop.

*Walks in UPS store*

"I would like to ship this arcade cab to Japan."

"No problem sir, you'll just need to rent a Boeing."

Somehow I was expecting something different when I saw "Working Robocop" in the title...

Portland right here.

When they say it makes for a good project, does that mean that you can re-up it so that you can get the picture working again?

What's, "re-up" mean?

It could be just that the monitor is fried, or needs a new set of capacitors installed (a cap-kit as they are called). But it also needs a good cleaning, and who knows if there are any deep gouges in the finish, etc.

PS: Working on Arcade Monitors can kill you. No Joke, you dont go messing around near the back of one, ever. You'd have to hire a TV repairman or someone who repairs monitors to mess with an arcade monitor....lest you run the risk of enough amps and voltage to hurt you really really bad, or worse.

Or the PCB board itself could be bad....in which case you'd need to buy another working Robocop PCB off ebay and swap chips, or just swap out the board..

In other words: Its alot of money to spend for freakin Robocop (a game that gets boring after about 5 min). Now if you gutted the thing and turned it into a MAME cab, it would be a nice cabinet to use....it has that rounded marquee (the part up top with the ROBOCOP banner on it)....get some custom printed MAME marquee and replace it.

PS: They made a nearly identical version for the Amiga computer, also by Ocean.
