Is there anywhere people know of you can download video game soundtracks? I'm mainly interested in Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros, and various Mega Man and TMNT games.

Sadly, you will have to DL them song by song. It makes it for that blunder with a big selection.

This place has alot of Megaman music for download.

You could also buy some of the soundtracks you are looking for. There are direct (and official) game rips, as well as arrangement and remix albums among other things. The TMNT one would be harder to find, as I don't think there's been an official release of any of that.

A pretty good website for rpg's(Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest) & action games(Castlevania, Devil May Cry, Shadow of the Colossus) is www.bluelaguna.net
There are a variety of emulated sound formats around (direct game rips usually with near perfect sound quality but minimal filesize). Most can be played via Winamp with the right plug-ins, and there are many standalone players as well. Wikipedia has a nice list of most of them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Video_game_music_file_formats).

Do you know of a tutorial on how to make these things into ringtones? I've been trying forever to get a few videogame ones, but either my plan doesn't support it or I'm just retarded.

I don't know much on using the songs as ringtones, but use audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) to cut it. It's free and the best damn sound cutting program I've ever used.

www.gamemp3s.net is easily the best site. Weekly torrents.

for snes, i use the spc archives here along with a winamp plugin. these are the actual sound files from the snes games, so the archives are very small in size. the plugin actually emulates the music from the games using the spc archives. pretty neat and light on the HD space.

most people will disagree with me, but I highly prefer the originals over ocremix... plus 50% of the stuff on OC can be annoying sometimes.

http://castlevania.classicgaming.gamespy.com/ for Castlevania music. Otherwise I third the Galbadia Hotel suggestion.

I tend to go with OC and GH. Although I do disagree with Rolento, I have to agree that most of those remixes can be annoying. The Pheonix Wright remix that OC has is pretty damn sweet, though.

well, OC is very hit or miss... some stuff can be amazing, or just stuck... nothing in between.
