I wonder how many poor, hungry families $1000 could feed?

I'd rather give up the money to charity then fill my stomach with one meal.

The Chicago Food Bank claims it can feed people for $1 per day.

If you can actually afford something like this, I'd wager you are already generously donating to charities if only for the tax benefits, so all of you whiny poor people should be quiet. You'll get your government cheese just the same.

I'm sorry, I don't care how much $1k can feed. Every decision people make shouldn't be to help poor people. Sorry, SOME poor people are lazy and deserve it (not all, some though are, and I'll point out some to you if you don't believe me).
Secondly, outside of publicity, will this work? Honestly, if I was going to spend 1K on food, I don't want pizza.
Oh, and one last rambling thought, everyone who mentions the tax writeoff, people do not give to charity for the tax writeoff. The tax writeoff mearly allows you to give more.
Here is an example. Say you are in the 50% tax bracket (fed+state). You give $1,000, you save $500 in taxes. You are still down $500. It would be the same of giving $2 to save $1. It doesn't make sense. But, if you want to give, it's a nice bonus. So, those that give give out of love for the charity, not just for tax writeoffs.

That's great stuff man!
Do you also believe in trickle-down economics and more tax cuts for the rich?
Great stuff!

Hey...if people really want to pay $1,000 for a pizza- thats their business. I'm not against it.

They aren't buying just your basic, pepperoni pizza. The REASON it costs $1,000 is because it has EXPENSIVE ingredients on it.

I don't see why it costs $1k the most expensive thing on that pizza is the caviar.
Caviar could be hundreds of dollars. Lobsters average about $30 a pound around me.
So in all reality your paying for the overpriced caviar.
Hell for $1000 I could have a clam bake. I'll take a clam bake over a pizza any day.

What a jackass. Poor people don't have $1000.
Seriously though, that pizza probably tastes like shit. Caviar and lobster? No thanks. I'll stick with the slightly less expensive pepperoni pizza.
