It is being installed at my house today and I can already imagine the mess it's going to cause getting my Wii and 360 back online properly. It's cheaper than Comcast which we currently have and it's supposed to make the Internet connection like 100x faster. We shall see.

Tagged for future review. Let me know how it goes.

I'm hoping AT&T rolls out their version of it out here soon, since I'm stuck at mid-range DSL speeds as my top-end.

I've had this for 2 years now and I have yet to have a problem w/connection for my WII and 360. I play GOW online all the time w/no lag even though I'm at the lowest tier (by the way I use the original Xbox wireless adapter). Even my WII gets on faster than some people I know who use Time Warner cable. My house is 2 stories and my wireless router is upstairs in my Master and my systems are downstairs in my Family room. So far, it's awesome.

I have it, and can honestly say that it works better for me here than comcast does

I was going to get their FIOS internet and TV bundle, but I found out they don't carry NESN in HD. No Red Sox in HD = no business for Verizon until they do.

It's not available near me yet, but it is being rolled out to Virginia Beach right now in some neighborhoods. I did notice that their HD lineup was going to far surpass Cox Cable (which is the only cable co. choice around here), and what do you know, Cox just added Fox, ABC, and NBC to its HD lineup. Gotta love competition.

EDIT: And yes, prior to last week, the only network Cox offered in HD was CBS. Talk about suckage.

I have it and there I have no problems at all getting on with my Wii and 360. No lag, etc. Works like a charm and plus with the TV I get more HD channels and they actually package similar channels together with their numbering, which is convenient.

I was working out there when they were installing all the cables on Shore DR. They reach about two blocks away from my house, but not to my house.

Fiberoptic is definetly faster than anything Comcast could offer you though, Javeryh. Comcast = Cable which makes the speed dependent upon the data usage in your area as a whole and you're distance from the cable company, Fiberoptic = Speed of light. Enjoy.

I wish they'd bring this out to where I live.

What is it? Like 35 down and 5 up ?

I'm glad to hear some of you have had a positive experience so far. How big is the HDDVR that they give you? My Comcast one was 160GB which was doable but I always wished it was bigger. I wonder what HD channels I'll be getting??? I really liked the Music HD channel that just came out for VH1 and MTV as well as YESHD for Yankee games... I hope I still get them.

I really want to get it but when I type in my address it doesn't find the address at all and so I was lazy and didn't feel like calling them so I will just wait.

I got it, for regular stuff it is great, for torrents, not so much. Never could figure out how to unblock ports so that is basically crippled

Hmm... that could be troubling. Anyway, I tested it out tonight - so far so good but I don't notice a difference from Comcast and the channel lineup is largely the same. The inside of my entertainment center was a complete clusterfuck so that took an hour to sort out. They unplugged the optical cable to my 360 and it took forever to even find it in the rat's nest back there.

One thing I did notice is that the software on the cable box is garbage - it seems way worse than the Comcast version. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet but the show names were very hard to read on the guide - like if the show was only a 1/2 hour the font was too large so something like The Office would just say "The Of..." That's highly annoying. Also, the DVR functionality is retarded.

To set up a series recording you have to tell it to record only new shows. The default is record everything AT THAT TIME so you also have to tell it to record the show whenever it comes on. For example, I set it up to record The Office, new episodes only but when I reviewed the settings it had "At 8:00 PM on Channel 804 ONLY" which is wrong because it usually comes on at 8:30 so it wouldn't have known to record anything else. It's basically a huge pain to set up a series and counterintuitive in a lot of ways. Grey's Anatomy was new tonight so that recorded but ABC also airs the same "new" episode on Friday nights too and the DVR software isn't smart enough to know the difference. My old one was. I guess I need to get used to it but so far from that aspect I'm unimpressed. I can supposedly watch non-HD recorded shows up in the bedroom though which should be cool if I can figure that out.

I'll post more impressions later but so far I'm not thrilled. The connection and service seems nice though but I watch a lot of TV so the user interface is important to me...

I have surewest fiber optics, 10mbps up and down, so ive had real speeds up to 1.1MB/s. I must say i likes me some fiber optics, Ive put up servers for like hl2 dm for 20 players and it handles it fine.

Javery depending on how your local cable provider is with HD it may look far superior on FioS. Also unlike Dish and DirecTV all the 1080i you're getting should be 1920x1080 or very close. DirecTV shows all their 1080i stuff at 1280x1080 and Dish is either 1440x1080 on some with others being 1280x1080, a scant few are still full res. Past that you still have to worry about bitrate.
As it stands here KCK is set to get U-Verse by the end of the year but if they're the same I'd rather have FioS but then I'd rather have the Korean channel MBC over that POS TV Japan channel.
