any way to tell what format a dvd drive supports?

i got my comp about a year ago, came with a dvd burner. single layer i remember it supports dvd+-r/rw and has double layer write capabilities, but i don't remember in what format. is there any way to tell without actually putting a double layer disc in there and just hoping its the right format?

find the model number of the drive and google it.

If you have nero installed there should be a tool called Nero Info Tool and run that and it will tell you more then you ever wanted to know about your drives.
