if you dont want the chance of getting a fake one then dont buy off ebay. Wait for a deal from Frys.com

The prices are going down everyday. Either buy from a reputable seller like newegg.com or amazon. Or wait 'til they come down to a price you like. You have no guarantees when buying on ebay.

Guy just got one from eBay. Says its from Sony its 2gigs. After he formatted everything seemed fined but when we tried to load up movies and music on the card everything started messing up. Now only one movie will play off the card and the music files get all screwed up after one listening to. He formatted the card again and its fine but then it starts up again.
Its a dark brown memory stick pro duo. Says Sony on as as High Density. Not sure if this is an isolated incident or if they all like this.
I got myself a Scandisk 1 gig and works like a charm. Weird

My Brother just bought a 4gig off ebay it came in a Sony blister pack, with the Sony seal its the real deal . But I'm with everyone else I have heard to many bad stories, I even told my bro not to order it he took a chance got a real one on a good deal but I think he was the exception to the rule.

I bought a 4 gig card off ebay, data transfers pretty slow, having not owned a pro duo before I have no idea if it is the norm, anyway besides that works exactly like it is supposed to, holds a full 4 gigs with no problems
A better term would be unlicensed instead of fake. Most the them should work fine other than it being a bit slower.

Not really they would be fake since they have the sony name on them.

So does anyone know what's the best deal for a 4GB? Outside of Ebay of course.
Thanks.

hmmm .... bought a 4GB Sandisk from Amazon for $65 this weekend. Not great, not bad. If you can wait, FRYS will definitely have a better sale.
