No I meant that Gundam Wing, G Gundam, and Gundam Seed are quite good. I didn't really like that one Gundam with the super deforemed gundams or MS Gundam 0080 for some reason. MS Gundam 0080 , though i did not like this one, i'll admit it was decent.

ATHF and Family Guy are cartoons/animated sitcom. They are not, nor will they ever be, anime. That being said, when it comes to cartoons it's all about Sea Lab 2021 and Samurai Jack.

Aside from the afore mentioned Bebop, Trigun, Evangelion, and Escaflowne some of my faves are Soul Hunter, Princess Nine, Outlaw Star, Lodoss War, and Robotech. Soul Hunter is only $35 for the complete set most places and was a great surprise for me. Started buying Last Exile also but want to wait until all the discs are out before I start watching. Also any movie by Miyazaki.

Depends on what you deem an anime...It's animated, it's from Japan. I mean sure it uses a different style but then again FLCL has a totally different style than Cowboy Bebop for example. Like you say it's all about the degrees you place into the category.
