I cant belive how bad the graphics are on this game compare to the other 2 YU GI OH games for the ds. Im just glad i only paid around 5-7bucks for it.
29.99 (less 5 buck best buy coupon) 24.99 then i dumped off the 3 promo cards for 25.84
i figure it cost me buck to list the cards. 1.50 or so on both ebay final fees and paypal fees and 2 to 3 bucks to ship it.
i would of been pissed to pay 30 bucks for something this bad. I mean even ping pals had better graphics then this game LOL
I still like to know why people spend 25 bucks for the 3 promo cards when they can buy the game with the 3 cards for 29.99

Really? I wanted to know about this one because my wife was interested in getting this one or the G/X one that just came out.
We both have Troubadour, and I know the G/X one is just like it, but I also heard that it doesn't have all the new cards to take advantage of certain spell and trap cards. That those cards could be also transfered to the new championship game.
How does it play though, the same way as the others? Is it hard to read what the card descriptions are. If it's just ugly, then I might still bite.

Does it have 3d graphics or graphics like the GBA versions?
I don't know why they insist on 3d graphics for handhelds. They just don't seem to work out very well.

Is this the game that finally has online play? Ive never played a Yugioh game, but if it had online dueling I might give it a try.

This one and Spirit Caller both have online play. People really liked Spirit Caller as it uses the same engine as Troubadour. I'll probably get that one vice this one...I'm more interested in some type of story that has me saving the world by playing a card game.

No, I know that. Like I said before the tournament games never have a storyline, at least the one I played for the GBA. I was refering to Spirit Caller when I mentioned story.
Though I've read some hardcore fans raving about the tournament one due to having more of the Hero cards, and them lacking in Spirit Caller. Still, I'm thinking Spirit Caller is far more interesting at this point. I know my wife wanted either of those games, but I think she would enjoy spirit caller as well.

Best playing NDS game out there (not a joke). Yeah, graphics are kinda ass, but for a pro player (such as myelf), no NDS game can come close. If you enjoy the actual card game, I'd suggest the game in a heart beat.
And to answer Slidecages Q: Konami often times bundles sick cards with their VGs and Manga and WC07 is no different. Two out of three of the cards are being seriously tested out in torney winning decktypes, while all three were featured in the anime (I think, I never actually watched GX at all, so I wouldn't know off-hand). So you got promos that both the anime nuts (mostly kids) & pro players want, thus the high price. Plus YGO promos usually spike pretty high the first week or so they're released.

SC has one of the worse single-player modes of any game on any system. Think horribly botched story that follows the horrible english dub (though I'm pretty sure GX is crap in JPN as well), coupled with absolutely no direction or directives. You're better off getting WC07 and just making up your own story.
Btw, online play is really good, but competition is fierce. Also, if its anything like SC (didn't check this out yet), online play will not work at McDs.

Okay for a complete Yugioh noob like me, which would be better to pickup: Spirit Caller, or this new WC2007 game?
I have NO idea how to play the card game. Ive played other card games in the past, but never Yugioh. Ive also only seen like 2-3 episodes of the cartoon.
Are either of these games noob friendly, with a nice tutorial and gradual introduction of advanced gameplay techniques, etc?

Grab WC07. Both have a decent enough tutorial, but WC07 has the deeper card pool, better online play, dloadable content and doesn't feature a story mode at all (which is a good thing, considering that SC had the worst single player out of any VG ever created).
Also, I would gladly take the promo cards (from WC07) off your hands for $15 ;)

I don't know. I tried several McDs with JUS and SC. JUS worked fine at all of them, but SC wouldn't connect for some odd reason.

Hmm... that would make my cost for the game like $10-15... If I decide to pick this up I'll send ya a PM.

I actually like this game (strangely). The online aspect makes it even more fun. This is assuming of course, that you don't mind a YGO game that's just dueling. If you're looking for a story, then this isn't it.

I used to be a weekly tournament winner myself. Played for about 2 years and then kind of got out of it around the time the Magician's Force (I think it was called) booster came out. I was kind of getting bored with it anyway, and I also thought the game was getting a little ridiculous with more complicated new gameplay elements.
I'm thinking about getting this one though for the online play. I would have TONS of catching up to do and would get crushed early on by even the noobiest of players just cause I'm not familiar at all with the current strategies, obviously, but it would just be for fun.

I'm sure you'll get the hang of what cards to use after taking a couple of floggings from online.
My sole complaint with WC07 is the abudance of cheaters. Far too many of them, and no way of reporting. I'm not talking about the folks that use the AR codes to unlock everything, I'm talking about the asshats that enable the "one hit kills" & "instanst Win" codes.

I haven't gone against cheaters yet. I've gone against the people who disconnect because they can't stand losing. After several games, my rating has barely broken 230.
I suppose people can't handle a 52-card control deck...

Same here, stupid disconnectors. I think this game is wearing off on me now since it feels impossible to get the cards i want.
