This is the new Trash Talk from Datel, a device designed to taunt/entertain gamers over Xbox Live using audio clips of your own choosing. This is not to be mistaken for the Smack Talk, which I reviewed last month and is currently available from Play-Asia (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-ci2-50-13-71-df-49-en-70-1vdk.html) for $34 shipped.

Theres really not any nice way to say this, so sorry for the inevitable harshness.

Feel free to review an razor. Cheapy, I'm usually willing to let your presentation imperfections slide, but if you're going to be on camera, you don't want to be sporting a neck beard. Especially if you're trying to spread the word about CAG, no one will take you seriously if you look like you haven't been off the couch in 3 days.

That said, an interesting review. I don't think I'll be dropping 30 dollars on it, but worth hearing out your opinion of it. Dugg it, too.

Can't watch it since I'm at work, but I'm crossing my fingers that Cheapy found a way to work "the heft of this unit" into the review again like he did with the SmackTalk.

Looks to be a bit more advanced than the SmackTalk, but $34? Ouch. I don't think it's $24 more advanced. Can't wait until someone comes out with the "Sh*t Talker" that enables you to put 30 clips on one device, it'll be the PS3 of XBL audio devices. "Playing annoying sounds over the microphone doesn't start until we SAY it does."

Nice. Thank you Cheapy for picking these up so I don't have to! There aren't a lot of accessory reviews out there, so these are a great service to CAGs everywhere. Can't wait for the 360 HDD transfer tool review!

Do you need to have the headset plugged in to use this?

I don't like wearing the headset sometimes, so I would put "yes" "no" "follow me" "right" "left" on some of the memory banks, just so I could communicate with other players without a headset on.



BTW, I really liked the review. Best one you've done yet... besides maybe the Hori Play Stand. The beginning of that one is classic :lol: "oh, hi there"

Exactly, you could make games based purely on that kind of technology. I had a blast playing RS3 on the original xbox with that feature. I was really didapointed Rainbow Six Vegas X360 didn't have it. It's the first thing I looked for in the game menu.

When I use mine I use it sparingly. I try not to use it in game a whole lot, unless we're just goofing. I use it mostly in the lobby, after I kill someone, or after I've been killed I might hit the button for a little Terminator " I'll be back". I put on some stuff like Godzilla, Sling Blade, and etc.

I think for the most part, people enjoy the clips if done properly and are not overused. I recall (Cheapy, I think) saying that people wanted him to keep playing sound clips because they enjoyed it so much.

That wouldn't work the trash talk is powered by those two prongs under the 360 controller

Cool video. Not really in the market for one personally, but it definitely seems much better than the Smack Talk you reviewed earlier.

I am a little disappointed at the lack of star wipes in the video though...

Nice review but it looks stupid to me. Junk really but thats just my opinion.

My buddy has some Mr. T thing called "Mr. T in your pocket" that he just holds up to the mic and makes it say stuff like:

"Don't gimme no back talk sucka!"

"Quit your jibber-jabber!"

and "I pity the fool!"

It was a laugh for a while but tt lost its novelty quick.

I just recently sold my GameDrSmackTalk and thought I might pick the Trash Talk later. After checking PlayAsia I noticed their 20% off right now. $23.92 + $4.40 shipping.

I'm not sure why it says the "list price" is $39.99 when Cheapy posted the review it was $29.99 + shipping, and 20% of $40 isn't $23.92

Not bad, I paid $15 shipped for the DrSmackTalk. This should be alot better counting there's no batteries, the unit has 16 slots instead of 5, and it's much smaller.

I got one of these a few months ago after seeing the review. It's pretty damn fun to goof around with. In Halo I use the Dixie horn from Dukes of Hazzard for mongeese and warthog action.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with Vista. I install the software and when I plug it in and ask it to search for the drivers on the CD, its a no go. I'm going to try calling up Datel tomorrow or later this week about it. It works fine in XP.
