time to vent... its 9:20 and im stuck at work. Im working the late shift at work today where i was supposed to be out the door by 9:00. But our data processing dept. had a problem with payroll and so here i sit i probably wont get out until at least 10:30........yawn....take nap now.....

yeah i know... i dont care though, i get paid on tuesday. This payroll is for all our temps. ( i work for a staffing company)

lol...your exactly right. You are the reason I get paid. I deal with the temps/contract employees a lot. but only to reset their password when their trying to view their paycheck on the online system. As far as messups....you can blame your HQ's accounting or DP department for that. Im just the It guy.....thats why i have to stay until everyone else is done.

ha..the angry temp....Yeah all our payroll stuff is through Peoplesoft. We setup the online paycheck a couple of months ago and also have an online timecard system now as well so the temps can just submit their time online, their manager looks at it, approves it and there BAM, they get paid. Then you check the online pay stub to make sure your payckeck, benefits and 401lk is ok....(speaking of, i really need to set up a 401k)

Working for the military, i don't have to worry about getting paid on time. Direct Deposit right into my bank acount the 1st and 15th of every month. Also unless there's any watches you have after hours, workdays are only 7 to 4. But then again, I'm sure you have more than 10 cubic feet to store all your possesions on the ship.

Personally I like staying late. More money = more games. Then again, usually when I stay late, it's like an hour, from 4:30-5:30, and I'm amazed if I get more than 1 or 2 calls in that time. (I work in a computer helpdesk for my University here)

Gonna spend 2 days in the city rest of the time out on Long Island.. what are the 'must sees/dos' on LI?

hmmmmm....must do's? it depends what your into/ how old you are. If your old enough id definatly reccomend going out east to the wineries. If not, the city tourist stuff is what your best bet is. Otherwise LI is like every other suburb.
