Co-Op Flight games.

I'm looking to either buy or download for free a flight game, space or sky, in which I can accomplish objectives with a friend against the CPU.

Are there even any games like this?

I know the consoles have stuff like the Star Wars flight games which are great fun, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like it for the PC.

Well the only thing I can think of is Freelancer, you can probably buy it for under $10, but Im not really sure. I've played it at LAN parties and what not.

Freelancer looks pretty good as far as multiplayer is concerned, I'll have to track down a copy.

Does anyone know how the multiplayer in Freespace 2 works?
