Ok, so I log into Lost Planet ranked for the first time yesterday... yeesh, everyone else is light years ahead of me in levels. Anyway, is there some sort of protection bonus for gaining levels or something? I will literally be following and shooting a person with the machine gun (yes, I'm actually hitting him) for 30 second or so and then he'll turn around and shoot me for about 3-4 seconds and kill me, with the same gun! What's going on? Anyone have similar experiences?
I'm actually pretty good at the game... the second time I played I went up 5 or 6 levels in one game, so don't think I'm just shooting the sky here. Any help is appreciated!

Iv had the same experience. I just gave up on it.
Lost Planet multi-player has the most uncontrollable bullshit I have EVER seen in a video game.
I bought the game the day it came out, and people under my level would blow me away with ease... after I shot their backs for three and a half hours.

So I guess it's a pretty random thing, then. That really, really sucks. However, I still find it pretty enjoyable for some reason.

the last update they had a month or so ago, not only added country flags (so you can make sure you start up a game with people who will speak english), but also added a little exclamation mark, which represents your ping or what not with other players.... the brighter the mark, the less likelyness of lag.
the other thing, were the people rolling when you were shooting them? cause that pretty much prevents just about all damage.

I knew about the flag and ping thing... everyone that I know of had good ping.
Well, there was some rolling, but still... I shot him from behind for a good amount of time while he was running and it didn't seem to deter him much. It was almost like he just got annoyed with me so he turned around to "swat a fly."

Machine guns and shotguns are so freaking luck-based it isn't even funny. I don't even play those games anymore unless I have to. Sometimes you can compensate for someones lag though and over-lead them to make up for it.
Personally I only play post grab so the laggers are less of a problem since kills don't net as many points as posts do.

Yea i have had that problem ALOT. It def helps to just not even shoot them in the back at all and that if you are even gonna shoot the shitty Machine gun to be zoomed on their head (duh)
as for a reason why ...might just be like some stupid location based damage and maybe the back doesn't take much damge.
go figure.

Capcom should get on that. It's looking like a prevalent problem.
