Three sets of Persona masks give the player new shape-shifting abilities and more ways to explore the world.
Dragon mask: Transforms NiGHTS into a huge dragon and makes him resistant to wind effects.
Dolphin mask: NiGHTS can change into a dolphin and explore under water.
Rocket mask: NiGHTS takes the shape of a rocket and travels at supersonic speeds.
There are seven fantastical dream worlds to explore and the unique environments of Nightopia introduce an extraordinary, magical world unlike any other.
Wii connect 24: Exchange items with friends via the network and change the scenery according to real-world seasons using the Forecast Channel. What do you gents make of this?

Sounds cool, well the forecast channel part - not the masks. I hate to be so cynical, but deep down, don't we all know that Sega will manage to f*ck this up?

Worried it may stray too far away from original formula with that extra stuff.

Yes! This is hopefully good news for Acimal Crossing to use the Forcast Channel.

David, this is the only smart thing you've ever said on this board.
Nice job, because I actually agree.

That idea is more important than this game for me.

oh please god, don't let sega fuck this up. the original NiGHTS stands tall on my all-time top five, my expectations for the sequal are already astronomical.

But I live in L.A. We don't HAVE seasons.

But I live in L.A. We don't HAVE seasons.

Hehe, I was thinking exactly that for people in many parts of the country (and world).

I'm sure there'd be an option to use the pre-programmed weather/seasons.

I've only ever read about NiGHTS, but I'm intrigued. Sega's inability to not fuck up their biggest games of late has me concerned, though.

Their use of the forecast channel is neat, but I'm still on dial-up. It's a non-issue for me.

Indeed, not everyone has their Wii online.

This is definatly going on my "please don't suck list"

Very cool about the forecast channel, but NiGHTS Wii is confirmed to support two players, right? If so, where is our online NiGHTS co-op?

The real work scenery based on the forecast sounds awesome!:)

Aye, I'm very curious about the weather channel incorporation. It is good to know that such information is accessible by games and potentially usable in a game environment.

When I got Animal Crossing on the GC, the first weekend it rained in real life, it did so in my town. Of course this was all (sadly) coincidence, so I too am really hoping this gets tied into the Wii iteration somehow.

This may or may not be good (remember the last few sonic games?)

all I want is a version of nights+xmas nights, with the timer bug fixed, and the narrating for xmas nights redone.

Yeah, I think this virtually guarantees that there will be weather integration in the Wii incarnation of Animal Crossing. Up to this point I wasn't sure if it was possible, but it appears it is. Very cool. And it sounds like the integration here should be neat as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

The saturn is very, very tricky to emulate properly, and the VC has no saturn games.

There's a pretty darn good Saturn emulator out for the PC that runs most games nearly flawless.

Your point being? This isn't an emulated version of the original NiGHTS for the VC. It's a completely new game designed specifically for the Wii.
